Out of the box, the ViewSonic VX2452MH is your regular gaming monitor, with not too many high end specs just so that it can sit comfortably within the $200 range. This makes it a great budget buy for casual gaming or even office use. If you wanted a slightly larger monitor, you may want to look at our Viotek GN27D review instead. Or, if you’re interested in a career in video editing, give our BenQ PV3200PT review a read instead. With the VX2452MH monitor being a TN panel you’d expect the viewing angles to be bad as is often the case, but surprisingly enough they are not. At 170 degrees vertical and 160 degrees horizontal, the VX2452MH just about makes the cut for hassle free screen sharing. If this isn’t impressive though, feel free to check out what else you can get below $200 in our list of the best gaming monitors under $200. Compare this to our AOC Aire Pro LED monitor review, if you don’t need a monitor specifically for gaming. Speaking of gaming monitors under $200, take a look at our Dell IN1930 18.5 inch HD LED monitor ($90 and ships free) for a bargain. Why We Like It – ViewSonic VX2452MH

The ViewSonic VX2452MH is a decent run-of-the-mill gaming monitor that offers a crisp viewing experience at a 1080p Full HD screen resolution and a peak brightness of 300 nits. Its refresh rate varies between 50 & 75 Hz for smooth imaging, while its response time stands at an impressive 2ms to completely eliminate motion blur. Compare this monitor with a slightly larger Viewsonic in our Viewsonic VG2732M review to decide which is best for you. Or, if you’d rather have a dual monitor setup, take a look at how Phillips puts two monitors in one.

Pros
  • 2ms response time
  • 50M:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
  • 50Hz to 75Hz refresh rate
Cons
  • No HDR Support
  • No USB ports

Performance

Beaten only by the Asus VG245H with a faster response time, gamers will be happy to hear that the VX2452MH monitor comes built in with a Game Mode that enhances the gaming experience by brightening dark scenes for better visibility. It’s MEGA Dynamic Contrast ratio of 50M:1 also pitches in on the cause to deliver sharp, crisp picture quality when playing video games. The ViewSonic VX2452MH’s range of connectivity also isn’t too bad, as it supports HDMI, DVI and VGA as viewing inputs. It comes with cables for both DVI and VGA, but no HDMI cable.

Design

The VX2452MH monitor comes packed in a glossy black, plastic housing that lends to it an almost premium feel. It’s not really as good looking as the curved Acer ED273, but it’s still easy on the eyes. Its stand though is not as ideal because it doesn’t allow for much tilting or any vertical adjustments at all. The gaming monitor is however wall mountable through a VESA interface, and its 24-inch screen comes with an anti-glare coating to help keep your eyes safe.

Value

Compared to other TN Panels, the VX2452MH monitor is much better placed to offer you a smooth gaming experience at a relatively low overall cost. Its resolution is similar to the Lepow Portable Monitor’s 1080p, but this monitor is ENERGY STAR certified, meaning it doesn’t require that much power to run. It also comes with an Eco-mode setting that adjusts the display’s brightness automatically for a lower power consumption level. These features make it perfect for long-term use at the office, or marathon sessions when gaming.

ViewSonic VX2452MH Wrap Up

As we wind up this ViewSonic VX2452MH review, it’s important to note that most gaming monitors in this price range are likely to have much worse viewing angles. This makes them unsuitable for gamers who prefer to share screens during gameplay. Also, if you go on to read more blogs & websites that have gone ahead to review ViewSonic monitors, you’ll find out that ViewSonic actually produces decent products. Despite the lack of USB ports and HDR support, the ViewSonic VX2452MH is certainly no exception.
