The Oster Blender may be an old high-speed blender, but it still packs a mighty punch. Not only is it built like a tank, but it’s also very performant. And Oster blenders have historically been some of the most reliable blenders of the bunch.

Power
Featuring a 600 Watt motor (0.8 HP), this Oster Blender is certainly not something to scoff at. Granted, modern blenders come with much more powerful motors in their base. However, those motors can’t convert their full power to the blending power; there’s always some sort of deficiency. The Oster Blender doesn’t suffer from this and can use all of its capacity for blending. Still, if you need more power, go for the Ninja Foodi blender instead.
Speed
It is a high-speed blender, and the stainless steel blades can achieve a very high RPM. Now, that comes at the cost of noise, and it is a very loud blender, as expected. The speed controls you get aren’t very impressive either compared to today’s standards. There are only two speed modes. If you like having more control over your blends, the Instant Ace Blender would be miles better.
Durability
One aspect where this old high-speed blender actually beats most modern blenders in its class is the durability section. The blades are made out of thick die-cast stainless steel, and most parts of the countertop base are actually made out of metal. And just like most other Oster blenders, the glass jar is dishwasher safe.
Versatility & Attachments
Because it’s an old blender, it doesn’t sport many things that give users flexibility, even compared to other more modern Oster blenders (e.g., the Oster Reverse Crush Blender). Extremely limited speed controls aside, the lid does have a 2 oz filler cap that also doubles as a measuring cup.
Value
The value aspect of the Oster Blender really depends on where you buy it from. It’s a decent value for money blender if you buy it new, primarily because of Oster’s 10 Year DURALAST All-Metal Drive limited warranty. But, it is a blender that has been available in the market for almost 20 years. So you should be able to score some sweet deals on the used/second-hand market.
