The Black Decker Performance FusionBlade Digital Blending System may be called ‘digital’, but there are still buttons you’ll need to press to get it operating. But forgetting about that, we consider this one of the best blenders for hot liquids, and most liquids in general, because of the resistant glass jar.

In case you want an alternative blender with a glass jar, check out this Black and Decker Fusion Blade review.

Why We Like It – Black and Decker FusionBlade

The Black and Decker FusionBlade Blender is a powerful personal-use blender that should be able to find a home in any household and be useful. It’s 12 speeds plus pulse function allows for variety and consistency in blending. And while it sits in the average column of blender weight it’s by no means heavy.

Pros
  • Can Even Grind Coffee Beans
  • All Removable Parts are Dishwasher Safe
  • Great Glass Jar and Lid
Cons
  • No Digital Controls
  • Only Two-Year Warranty

Power

The Black+Decker Fusion Blade Personal Blender boasts 550 watts of power which should be more than enough for normal household applications like soups smoothies and other liquid concoctions. If you want something exceptionally more powerful, consider the Cleanblend Blender. As an added bonus, the stainless steel blades make the FusionBlade exceptional at grinding coffee beans too. We recommend the Blenderx Portable Blender review to those who want a more powerful and portable blender with a good battery life.

Speed

The FusionBlade Blender comes with 12 speeds and an added pulse feature. This allows you to find the perfect speed for whatever you’re making, including sauces, and the added pulse feature allows you to create the perfect consistency. If 12 speeds sounds a little too minimalist for you, the Breville BSB510XL comes with 15 different that you can check out.

Durability

The FusionBlade Blender comes with dishwasher safe parts for fast and easy clean-up. But it would be wise to limit dishwasher use and wash by hand considering dishwasher use amps up wear. The blender jar is also very resistant to staining so anything you make, from smoothies to sauces, should slide right off. Finally, customer reviews have commented on how little noise the blender makes, which is always welcome.

Versatility/Attachments

The FusionBlade Blender comes with a 48oz glass jar that is good for six cups of whatever you’re making if filled to capacity. The 1oz lid insert allows you to drizzle in oil and other things while you’re blending and can also double as a 1oz measuring cup. But despite the futuristic look of the blender there are no digital controls (only buttons), which makes pre programmed settings impossible,

Value

The FusionBlade Blender weighs seven pounds, which isn’t bad but still sits in the center of the lightweight to heavyweight spectrum. It also comes with a two-year limited warranty, which again isn’t bad, but also nothing compared to some of the competition. The Vitamix 5200 Blender, for example, comes with an exceptional seven year warranty.

Black and Decker FusionBlade Wrap Up

The Black+Decker FusionBlade Blender can not only blend liquids of varying viscosities, from smoothies to tomato sauce, but it can also grind hard items like coffee beans thanks to the powerful stainless steel blades. The two-year warranty may only be average, but you should find no need to use it if you follow cleaning instructions to the letter.
