Performance
As far as avocado slicers go, this product by Vremii won’t produce the best results, but most people should find it sufficient for everyday use. The plastic serrated edge works great to cut into the skin of the avocados. Stainless steel pitter components usually work decently, and this feature is no exception. Unlike many others, this isn’t a twist and go process. You pry the pit out with this stainless steel pitter. Avocado kitchen tools, like the OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, should slice the fruit easily. This tends to mash the fruit more than slice it.
Design
This product has a plastic body with a pitter. Avocado kitchen tools are often made of plastic, so this isn’t uncommon (neither is the middle-of-the-tool stainless steel pitter). Avocado tools need to be able to slice and scoop avocados. Stainless steel blades (like on the Amco 2-in-1 Avocado Slicer) work better, but the “blades” on this product are made of plastic, which Is why they double as a “masher”. This slicer and pitter avocado kitchen tool is available in red, blue, and green but unfortunately, you only get one tool per package.
Value
This Vremi avocado tool is a decent value. It might not work as well as other products, such as the Joseph GoAvocado 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, but it still gets the job done. The “knife” component and the pitting tool are what make this product worthwhile since they both work easily and efficiently. Where this product lacks is the slicer. The scoop-and-slice end of this tool produces mixed results depending on how ripe the fruit is, so if you want a tool that will cut nice slices 100% of the time you would be better off investing your money elsewhere.
Vremi Avocado Slicer Wrap Up
Overall, the Vremi Avocado Slicer is a decent tool. Its cutting and pitting functions work well (although its slicer is hit-or-miss). Unlike many other products, it’s available in different colors, so that’s a nice touch. It would have been nice to see a focus more on performance and less on visual appeal, but at least this product is easy-to-use, dishwasher safe, and won’t cut you like a sharp knife might.
