Performance
While this avocado slicer and pitter may not have all the features of the OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, it nonetheless is a great tool if all you need to do is remove avocado pits and slice up the rest. Unfortunately, the pit remover isn’t the most effective because it can end up mashing the avocado while you attempt to remove the pit. Thankfully, the slicer works much better and cuts the avocado into eleven thin slices, which are many more slices than other comparable tools.
Design
The design of the Amco tool isn’t anywhere near as good as the Joseph GoAvocado 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, which removes the pit, slices the avocado, and has a foldable knife built into the bottom. This tool only has a pit remover and a slicer; it does not have a knife component. The tool is made of stainless steel for the slicer and the handle. The pit remover is made of nylon and works well in theory, but individual results may vary.
Value
The value of this product isn’t very good. This tool only has a splitter and a pit remover; similarly priced tools include a knife, a pit remover, and a splitter. Even cheaper tools like the Dotala 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer include a knife, so that is definitely an area where the Amco is lacking.
