Performance
This avocado knife/peeler/scoop is simple to use. First, the avocado knife on the side of the tool is used to spit the fruit down to the avocado core. Then the pit is removed with the twist-pitter; if the pit is too small the slicer removes fruit pits as well. After you’ve removed the pit you can slice the fruit up into smaller pieces. The green slicer cuts the avocado into six slices. If these avocado slices aren’t thin enough for you consider trying the Amco 2-in-1 Avocado Slicer instead.
Design
This tool is made to process avocados safely. The comfort-grip handle is made of a food-safe silicone material. Above the comfort-grip handle, green plastic surrounds the avocado pitter in the center of the tool. Like the OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, this product has a twist-to-remove avocado pitter built into the head of the tool. Above and to the side of the grip handle, green slicer plastic juts out of the side like a knife. It easily slices avocados, but it’s made of plastic so the tool slices avocados safely without worries of cuts.
Value
The manufacturer left a decent amount of product information about this comfort-grip handle green slicer/pitter/knife, which helps explain its value. The tool is made of food-grade silicone, PP20 plastic, and 430 stainless steel so the product itself is well-made. This tool is about $3 cheaper than the Joseph GoAvocado 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, which is a similar product. At less than ten dollars, there isn’t much to complain about this product. It doesn’t work as great with small-to-medium size avocados, but if that’s an issue you could always spend the extra $3 for a different multi-tool.
