Being the best vacuum for laminate floors also means being the best in other areas, a trait Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuums knows well. At first glance, its general design seems easy to understand. But step closer and you’ll realize the canister can be lifted away for even easier mobility and versatility. If you want more household cleaning machines, check out our best vacuum cleaner reviews.

Why We Like It – Shark Navigator Lift Away

Despite a bulky design, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum is lightweight, even detaching itself from the base for above-ground cleaning where it captures 99.98% of particulates as small as 0.3 microns.

Pros
  • Captures 99.9% of particulates
  • Can detach canister for mobility
  • Lightweight despite bulky design
Cons
  • Hard floor hero attachment isn’t included

Power

Judging the power of Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaners is best seen by its ability to capture 99.99% of particulates. Even the best vacuums hit a ceiling of 99.97%. This allows it to rip particles as small as 0.3 microns out of carpets and air.

Speed & Efficiency

One minute you’re finishing hard floor cleaning, the next you’re attaching a crevice tool to the end of a hose. Combine that with these Shark vacuums HEPA filter system, and you’ve got one efficient machine, also seen by its big brother, the Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe.

Bin Capacity & Maintenance

Cordless vacuums and robot vacuums suffer from low bin capacity, but that’s where the Shark Navigator Lift-Away shines bright. Holding up to 2.2 quarts of debris and pet hair, the Shark Navigator Powered Lift-Away is putting in some serious work. And unlike the Kenmore Elite Vacuum, you don’t have to use vacuum bags either. You’ll have to clean the dust cup once in a while, but at least it has a self-cleaning brushroll.

Durability

At just 13.7 lbs, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away has clearly been manufactured with cheaper material, but that does help in its favor. For starters, it keeps pricing low, while ensuring that it stays lightweight, easy to wield, and still durable. If you aren’t wrestling with the machine, it won’t be a problem.

Value

The Shark Navigator Lift-Away is certainly a step above a Shark Rotator, so if you had once before, now is the time to upgrade. It goes without saying, the Navigator is also a great secondary option if you don’t have the money to purchase a Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. However, if you want a 2-in-1 option, the Bissell Crosswave Cleaner can vacuum and mop at the same tie, for about $50-100 more.

Shark Navigator Lift Away Wrap Up

It’s going to be hard denying the Shark Navigator Lift Away. What’s not to like? It brings its A game when vacuuming carpets and hard flooring; can have the canister detached for mobility; and it’s lightweight, an ideal choice for the elderly. If all it lacks is a hard floor hero attachment, you aren’t missing out on much, to be honest.
