What polishes your flooring while also softly scrubbing away dirt and grime? The Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner, of course, is the best vacuum for tile floors. And don’t you worry about carpets either—it can transition back and forth between two, making it the ideal candidate as the best vacuum for the carpet too! You might want more carpet cleaning options, so check out these best vacuum cleaner reviews.

Why We Like It – Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner

Incorporating a dual brush system and 1350W of suction power, the Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner ensures that no amount of debris is safe from its deep cleaning abilities.

Pros
  • 1350 watts of suction power
  • DuoClean technology
  • Powered lift-away module
Cons
  • A bit pricey

Power

The kind of power you can expect from the Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner is the ability to easily lift pet hair from your carpets, directly competing with the Dyson V11 Vacuum. In other words: 1350 watts of suction power takes you a long way, similar to its cousin the Shark Navigator vacuum cleaner.

Speed & Efficiency

This Shark vacuum’s cleaning path isn’t different from any typical vacuum cleaner, which is about 12 inches wide. Floor cleaning doesn’t have a prayer as its DuoClean technology polishes the floors while deeply cleaning carpets at the same time. Afterward, attach a crevice tool and take care of your furniture or lift pet hair with the upholstery tool.

Bin Capacity & Maintenance

After some consideration, it’s in agreement 1.5 quarts capacity is a bit on the small side. To be fair, if you’re cleaning regularly, that isn’t going to be a problem at all. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a self-cleaning brush roll like its brother, so you’ll have to clean that occasionally. Again, not that big of a deal.

Durability

While still made of plastic, the Shark Apex DuoClean Upright Vacuum Cleaner manages to not appear cheap in any sense of the word. In fact, it’s quite sturdy; it needs to be, considering it has a lift-away function for the bin, if you want to vacuum the stairs without taking the whole machine.

Value

At first glance, $499 might seem steep—and it’s certainly a pretty penny—but the Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner offers top to bottom cleaning. You get several attachments, like a floor nozzle and crevice tool, and more—something the Hoover Linx lacks. It’s also easier to maneuver than a Miele Blizzard CX1. And cheaper than said vacuum.

Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner Wrap Up

Despite its cost, the Shark Apex Vacuum Cleaner is everything you’d want out of a powerful vacuum for top to bottom cleaning. Its dual cleaning head alone ensures you should only have to make one pass through, supported by 1350W of suction power. And knock away the challenge of stairs by lifting the canister off the base and going mobile.
