As far as the best professional drone or the best VR drone should go, features like operating distance, stability, and image quality are important features. The Parrot Bebop 2 Drone fulfills these features and even exceeds them in some circumstances, making it a contender for highly-rated drones. Sure, 4K isn’t an option, but for someone just getting the piloting skills off the ground, is it really necessary?

The Parrot Bebop 2 Drone is zippy, long-lasting, and lightweight. You can have all sorts of fun watching it soar through the air at max speed for quite a bit of time. At half a pound, it’s lightweight enough that it won’t weigh you down if you decide to bring it outside the confines of your backyard, too!

Speed/Power
The Bebop 2 Drone is pretty zippy for an almost entry-level drone. With a max speed of 37 miles per hour, it’s just a tad faster than the Freefly Alta 8. But, it should provide you with great fun while soaring through the air. This speed almost matches more high-end DJI drones, too, such as the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The Bebop 2 can also operate from 300 meters away. Considering most laws restrict a user from being no more than 500 meters away, 300 is more than enough. Range
Battery Life on the Bebop 2 is quite good for, again, an almost entry-level drone. It is quoted as having 25 minutes, but that’s under optimal conditions. Twenty sounds like a more realistic number, but 25 shouldn’t be impossible. The Bebop 2 may earn distinction again because this flight time is comparable to more high-level drones like the DJI Inspire 2.
Durability
The Bebop 2 is more robust than its predecessor. It weighs a modest half pound, but still has impressive flight performance in inclement weather. Unfortunately, the main body is still made of plastic which results in the Bebop 2 feeling a bit flimsy in your hand. When flying, the Bebop 2 is quite responsive and capable of sharp turns should the need arise.
Camera Features
The Bebop 2 uses a fisheye lens with a 170-degree field of vision and a 14-megapixel camera for incredibly smooth video recording. This recording is done in full HD at 30fps. You should note, too, that the fisheye lens on the Bebop 2 is prone to heavy lens flare.
Value
The Bebop 2 is a very affordable drone that can fill the niche of someone wanting to begin their drone piloting head-on without having to start at a bottom-level drone. There’s plenty of room for a pilot to grow with the Bebop 2, and they won’t have to spend any extra money when they’ve finally mastered their beginner-level drone. Overall, the Bebop 2 will save you from having to buy both an entry-level drone and a medium-level drone! The main drawback I find with the Bebop 2 is the plastic body. Perhaps I just have a bias against plastic, but it makes the drone feel cheap. Still, I can’t complain about how stable it is in the air despite this and the fact that it’s only half a pound. If you’re a beginner and decide to invest in this drone, you’ll be happy with your purchase.
