Most if not all of the best drones available in the market are so big that they are not really meant for flying indoors. This is exactly where the BLADE Nano QX BNF Quadcopter is different compared to others. Its small size makes it the perfect contender for the top-rated drone below $100. So it could very well be one of the smallest drones available.

Why We Like It – BLADE Nano QX

The BLADE Nano QX BNF Quadcopter might cost less than others, but it does not feel like a cheap drone in terms of functionalities at all. And the kind of flight controls it offers with its agility mode and stability mode is completely unmatched.

Pros
  • Features safe technology for agility and stability modes
  • Four brushed motors
  • Excellent flight time
Cons
  • You have to buy the DSMX transmitter separately

Speed & Power

As is the case with almost all cheap quadcopters, the BLADE Nano QX uses two-speed modes. But, on this one, the flight controls are so easy that most people would be flying it in high-speed mode all the time. And the safe system enables the drone to easily steer clear of obstacles on the way, at max speed. Still, if you need even more speed, go for the DJI Spark Remote Controlled Drone instead.

That said, it’s not always about speed but experience. For instance, in our reviews of the DJI Mavic mini drone and the Air Hogs Supernova drone, you’ll find two drones that are perfect to get started.

Range

The range you get with the BLADE Nano QX BNF Quadcopter is about 100 ft. So don’t worry, you’ll lose sight of it before you lose signal. But do note, because this drone is extremely fast, it can reach that range threshold very quickly. If you need a drone that you can control from even further away, getting something like the Tello Quadcopter Drone would be a good idea.

Durability

Unlike the Altair Aerial Blackhawk, this is where most cheap drones fail to impress. But not the BLADE Nano QX BNF Quadcopter. For a drone under $100, it offers excellent build quality overall. Even if you get your rotor blades (propeller blades) damaged somehow, it comes with an extra set of blades to replace them with. Even the Holy Stone HS200 Drone (that costs about ten bucks more) doesn’t have this level of build quality.

Camera Features

Similar to the Hubsan X4 H107L, the BLADE Nano QX BNF Quadcopter doesn’t sport a camera. But that doesn’t make it useless at all. It’s a great quadcopter to use as a sort of training wheels before you invest in a drone with a video camera. And as a beginner, it should go without saying that you would rather crash a cheap camera-less drone, than crash an expensive professional camera drone. Also, check out the Contixo F24 Drone too.

Value

Considering you get free shipping, this is an incredibly cheap mini drone to buy. Mainly because it’s a complete package, where you even get the USB battery charger, extra blades, and pretty much everything you’ll ever need. There really isn’t anything else at this price quite like it at all. If you are a beginner then you should go through our Blade Chroma review for a decent drone.

BLADE Nano QX Wrap Up

The BLADE Nano QX is, all in all, an excellent value-for-money drone. When you are just starting, cheap quadcopters like these come in handy.
