Why We Like It – Oreck Commercial Review

Performance

The Oreck Vacuum XL2100RHS uses a high-speed balance brush roll with double helix brushes and powerful suction to suck up the dirt deeply rooted in your carpet, while brushing along edges. You’ll find similar strength in our Bissell BigGreen Commercial BG1001 review. The Oreck Commercial Vacuum does an excellent job of transferring that power from one surface to another, being able to handle thick and low pile carpets to bare floors. Not even pet hair is safe from the Oreck Commercial. It does not, however, have a very large cleaning path; it’s only 12 inches. For a small home, that isn’t a problem.

Design

The Oreck Commercial is certainly the most simplistic vacuum cleaner we’ve seen, the power resting in the bottom part of the vacuum. The power button is located at the top of the handle in a comfortable place. With its 35-foot long power cord, you rarely have to unplug the long cord to a different outlet. Yet, a 48-foot long power cord like you’ll find in our Hoover Commercial C2401 review, would be much more ideal. The Oreck Commercial is only 9 lbs, one of the lightest we’ve toyed with on our list, making it ideal for the elderly to handle. Unfortunately, it’s a bagged vacuum. This is old tech, not like a refillable dust cup seen on the Bissell Cleanview.

Value

There’s no doubting the power of the Oreck XL Commercial Vacuum XL2100RHS; it’s got excellent suction for such a low-cost vacuum. But bagged vacuum cleaners fell out of style long ago because of how expensive they can be over time. Spending $30 for 50 bags doesn’t sound bad at first, but you’ll spend $30 every month. That adds up to $360 by the end of the year. You’re bettering off going with a Shark Navigator Vacuum Cleaner or Eureka PowerSpeed Lite for the best for pound value.

Oreck Commercial Review Wrap Up

We liked the power behind the Oreck Commercial Vacuum XL2100RHS. It’s just a shame it’s locked behind a bagged vacuum and thin cleaning path. Still, its non-marring bumpers do come in handy and prevent scuffing, and if your home is small you won’t notice the cleaning path. And if you’re elderly, the lightweight frame will be heavenly.
