The OnePlus 7 Pro has risen the ranks of the mobile phone world and can now be considered a best smartphone. Showcasing all-day battery life, a retractable selfie camera, and timely software updates, the OnePlus 7 Pro can rightfully be called a flagship phone. The price OnePlus has increased the phone to is disappointing but such is the burden of becoming a flagship phone. Compare the specs of the OnePlus to our BlackBerry Bold 9930 review if you’re still not sure which smartphone is best. Or you might want to read our LG G5 review if you’re not sure about the OnePlus.

Why We Like It – OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus has upped their game with the release of the OnePlus 7 Pro. It Features an impressive array of specs and is designed well. It’s value has risen to the level of flagship phones like the Samsung GalaxyS10 or the S10 plus proving that a phone can rise from obscurity and become a major player in the mobile market. For wirelessly charging the OnePlus, you can use the Xvida magnetic wireless power 2 charging docks.

Performance

The OnePlus 7 Pro is among the fastest Android phones and is almost on par with the S10 plus. The main camera, which boasts 48MP image quality, is much better than the OnePlus 7 Pro’s predecessor. The phone also has impressive battery life and is able to survive most of what you throw at it throughout the day. However, it can’t quite reach two days, but it does come close. The Samsung Galaxy A70 is an impressive device that includes a huge battery capable of lasting a long time if battery life is that important to you.

Design

The phone has a fast in-screen fingerprint sensor and an Oxygen OS software skin running on top of an Android 9 operating system. The curved edges reveal a Samsung Galaxy S10 inspiration, and it’s available in mirror gray or nebula blue. The gyro sensor triggers if the phone is dropped and causes the pop-up camera to retreat. On the downside, the pop-up selfie camera exhibits some barrel distortion because of its wide field of view, and the 16MP ultra-wide lens and 8MP telephoto lens aren’t the best cameras for a phone. The UmiDigi X has an exceptional camera. And for a budget phone, no less.

Value

The company is quick to test and release software updates while other companies, like Samsung, take a while. They also have released software updates for the camera leading you to believe it really wants to produce a good one. The pop-up selfie gives the phone an incredible “wow” factor, but at the cost of, well, costing as much as a flagship phone. If you’re still looking for high-end features at budget level prices, the BLU G9 Pro gives you those features at low, low prices.

OnePlus 7 Pro Wrap Up

The price increase is disappointing, but it shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise. While the selfie camera gives the phone a “wow” factor, the fact that it retracts gives the phone a “WOW” factor. It’s nice to know the feature that mobile phones are most known for will remain safe if you drop it. And let’s face it, we’ve all dropped our phones at least once in our lives.
