If you’d prefer a Wi-Fi controllable unit, consider the LG LW1017ERSM model that also cools a space of 450 sq ft, and operates at a fairly quiet 52 dB. The LG LT1037 HNR operates a maximum indoor noise level of 56 dB and runs on a 230-volt electrical outlet.

The LG LT1037 HNR has a British Thermal Unit (BTU) rating of 10,000 (although there is also an 11,200 BTU version available). Unlike the Friedrich Wallmaster, this provides it with enough power to cool an area of up to 450 sq. ft. This model also has a heating function, which is rated for 11,200 BTU and is designed to heat areas from 450-550 sq. ft. If you need to control the temperature over a larger area, consider an air conditioner with a higher BTU rating like the LG LW1816ER.
Energy Efficiency
Unlike many other units, this air conditioner won’t work with a standard 115v electrical outlet; instead, it requires a 230-volt/20-amp outlet. Still, this model is fairly energy-efficient, with an estimated annual operating cost of only $92 (annual operating costs for similarly designed models range from $73 to $138). This earns it an Energy Efficiency Ratio of 9.8, and brings the average daily cost of operation to about $0.25, though your actual operating costs will vary depending on which settings you use & how frequently you use the device.
Filtration
By design, this air conditioner is both inside and outdoors: the back of the device hangs outside of the building, the middle is held in place by passing through the 26″ wall sleeve, and the front of the device is located inside of the room, where only the buttons, vents, & LED display are visible. Located inside the front of this device is the air filter, which can easily be accessed by opening the front of the AC, making cleaning the filter a simple task.
Durability
Of course, you shouldn’t be unnecessarily rough with your AC, but this LG device is built well enough so there’s no need to worry about damaging it during the installation process. LG offers a one-year warranty on this air conditioner, but there are also protection plans available. You can buy 3 years of protection (through Asurion) for $65.99, or 4 years for $85.99. The device receives mostly positive reviews overall, earning 3.9 out of 5-stars based on 32 Amazon ratings. A common complaint is product damage from the shipping process.
