Emerson Quiet Kool Window Air Conditioners not only cool a room, but also remove unwanted moisture so your room won’t feel as hot in the humid summer. It does tend to get a little loud, but that’s pretty common amongst most AC units. Despite this, we still consider it the best through-the-wall air conditioner because of its plethora of useful features. Read on to learn about these features, and compare them to those found in top-rated air conditioners.

Why We Like It – Emerson Air Conditioner

The Emerson Air Conditioner is a fine choice for your in-wall air conditioner. Just know that it must be used in-wall and cannot double as a window AC. It can cool any mid-sized room without hassle and has an excellent EER rating which leads to a well-earned Energy Star certification. If you prefer a portable unit, try the Edgestar Portable Air Conditioner.

Pros
  • Removes 50.4 Pints of Water a Day
  • UL Listed
  • 24 Hour Timer
Cons
  • Though Not as Cumbersome to Clean It’s Still Inconvenient
  • Heavy
  • Doesn’t Work With 115V Power Supplies

Performance

The Emerson Quiet Kool Air Conditioner boasts an impressive 10,000 BTU cooling power. This is more than enough to cool a room of about 450 Square Feet. What’s more, the unit is also available in 8,000 or 12,000 BTUs if you want to check those out too. Also, consider the Energy Star Keystone Air Conditioner for another example of BTU variance. Another positive, the unit can remove 50.4 pints of water per day!

Energy Efficiency

With an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of 10.6, it’s easy to see why the Emerson Quiet Kool Air Conditioner has earned the strict Energy Star Certification from the EPA. You can also check out the Friedrich Chill CP06G10B 6000 BTU if Energy Star Certification is important to you. The Quiet Kool is also UL Listed which means the device will not have any negative effects on the air. An environmentally-friendly machine is always welcome. Another example of this is the Evapolar portable air conditioner that uses 100% biodegradable filters.

Filtration

For convenience, the Emerson Quiet Kool AC is equipped with an easy-to-remove filter so you can clean it quickly with just normal water. What type of filter is used, however, is unspecified, as is how often you should wash it. Although it’s less cumbersome to wash than the KSTAT10-2C Keystone Air Conditioner, it’s still a minor inconvenience nonetheless.

Durability

The Emerson Quiet Kool has four directional louvers so you can point the unit directly at wherever you need airflow. However, at just shy of 90 pounds, it’s on the heavy side and we recommend getting a friend to help you move it around. Finally, the noise level sits at around 69dB, which is around normal conversation levels. For a unit with 56dB, you’ll want to read our EdgeStar 14,000 BTU dual-hose portable air conditioner/heater review. Alternatively, if you want a quiet window air conditioner, we have a list for that, too.

Value

In a very off turn of events, the high-quality brand Emerson Quiet Kool doesn’t work with standard 115V power supplies. But there are still other good things about the unit. The 24-Hour Programmable timer allows you to program exactly what time you want your unit to be working so it won’t be blowing air when you’re away at work and the auto-restart allows for the unit to reboot itself in case of a power outage.

Emerson Air Conditioner Wrap Up

The most baffling thing about the Emerson Air Conditioner is its inability to work with a standard 115V power supply. And I mean baffling. Still, if you can figure out a way to get the unit set up and working properly, you’ll find that its features and its ability to dehumidify and cool a room are exceptional. And in all honesty, the price isn’t too shabby compared to other AC units either.
