Performance
Similar to the Cooper and Hunter mini-split, the Daikin mini-split heat pump has a BTU rating of 12000, making it perfect for rooms of up to 550 square feet. This is slightly less than the room coverage that you’ll get with the SENL-09CD Senville Mini-Split, but the Senville split system does have a slightly better energy efficiency rating. This means your electricity bill is not likely to rise as much as it would with the Daikin mini split air conditioner.
Energy Efficiency
Two ratios are normally used to determine the energy efficiency of an HVAC system. There’s the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER), and the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). The Daikin ductless mini-split system has a SEER & EER ratio of 17, making it about 4 points higher than the minimum, industry-recommended standard of 13. It’s not really the best in the industry, but for a mini-split AC that’s going for less than $1000, it’s still a good bargain. Filtration
The air filters in the Daikin mini-split heat pump are both washable and easily removable, so keeping them well maintained shouldn’t be a huge problem. This is an aspect that the heat pump actually has in common with the WYSO12A-19 wall mounted Pioneer mini split conditioner, making the two perfect choices for anyone that wouldn’t want to have a difficult time during maintenance.
Durability
The typical lifespan of a good mini split air system is about 20 years, but this is of course with proper use and good maintenance. You can also expect the Daikin 12000 BTU air conditioning system to last a similar length, and just to make sure you don’t experience any problems with it when it’s still new, it’s backed by a 10-year parts manufacturer’s warranty that’s a lot better than the 5 years on parts and 7 years on compressor warranty that you’ll get with the MRCOOL mini-split heat pump.
