When you think of the best Chromebook for artists, the Lenovo Chromebook S330 probably wouldn’t be one of your first choices (mainly due to its lack of a touchscreen). Despite that shortcoming, the Lenovo S330 serves as a great way to take your portfolio on the go! With its lightweight 3.3 lb. design and 14-inch screen, this Chromebook can be easily taken wherever you go. Why We Like It – Lenovo Chromebook S330

The Lenovo Chromebook S330 is a budget Chromebook that runs on Chrome OS but can also run Android apps. This device isn’t suitable for hardcore gaming, but it is perfect for lightweight games such as Roblox. The S330 comes with a 14” FHD display, MediaTek MT8173C processor, Integrated PowerVR GX6250 graphics card, 4GB of RAM, & 64GB of eMMC storage.

Pros
  • Long Battery Life
  • Has a USB C port, a USB 2.0 port, & a Micro SD card reader
  • Syncs with Other Devices Connected to Your Google Account
Cons
  • Lacks a Touchscreen or Tablet Mode
  • Only Available in Business Black

Display Type

The Chromebook S330 has a 14-inch anti-glare display. This means you won’t have that much trouble viewing it in bright light. Unfortunately, the screen isn’t 4K (only full HD), coming in at 1920 x 1080 pixels. Still, the S330 has a USB-C connector, so if you need to show off your work you can always hook it up to a bigger screen via USB-C to HDMI. Sadly, the S330 doesn’t have a touchscreen option, which is something we would expect at this price point. If you prefer something with a touchscreen option, give our Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 Review a read.

Resolution

As mentioned above, the 64GB version of the Lenovo Chromebook S330 comes with a full HD display. The anti-glare (sadly non-touch) 14” screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Although it’s not a 4K display, it should be adequate for most situations (another full HD option is the HP Chromebook 14). There is also a 32GB version of the S330 available, but be aware that you will no longer get a full HD experience. Instead, the still 14-inch display will only be HD, with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Battery Life

The battery life of the Lenovo S330 won’t be breaking any records, but it should last a normal workday. Lenovo claims that the S330 will last up to 10 hours on a single charge, and surprisingly that claim is fairly accurate. The 45 Wh battery will usually last a little over 10 hours of basic use, although if you are enjoying some light gaming, expect the battery life to go down. The Chromebook S330 takes between one & a half to two hours to completely charge. Weight & Durability

Although it’s not as light as the Google Pixelbook Go i5 Chromebook, the S330 is still very portable. Weighing in at only 3.3 pounds, most people won’t have any issues carrying this device around with them throughout the day. The lightweight of this device is mainly due to its construction, which is primarily thick, “Business Black” plastic. Unfortunately, although resistant to scratches, the matte finish easily accumulates fingerprints. The dimensions are fairly compact at 12.82 (height) x 0.82 (depth) x 9.15 (width) inches, making the S330 extremely portable as it easily fits into most bags.

Inputs

Most Chromebooks do not have a lot of connection options, and the S330 is no exception. On this Chromebook, you get a USB-C port (which doubles as the charging port), one USB 3.0 port, an SD card reader, and a single HDMI port. Internally, this Chromebook houses only 64GB of eMMC storage, although you can expand the storage with the SD card reader & you also get 100GB of cloud storage space on Google Drive when you purchase this device. If you want something with more internal storage, you may want to consider the Google Pixelbook i7 instead.

Lenovo Chromebook S330 Wrap Up

If you’re looking for a solid Chromebook that won’t break the bank, then the Lenovo Chromebook S330 is a great option. While it won’t outperform high-end models and isn’t really suitable for more hardware-intensive tasks, the S330 excels at providing a cheap & lightweight way to take your work on the go.
