When it comes to choosing the best tower fans, there’s always something that’s sacrificed for improving another field, like having more power for the finest drying fan while sacrificing noise levels. With the Lasko T42950 Tower Fan, that was an afterthought. Its tall shape saved space and power blew cool air around the room, while freshening it at the same time. They might be the best fans for a baby room.

Why We Like It – Lasko T42950

As an oscillating tower fan, like many high-quality pedestal fans, it can blow air around in a full 360-degree turn. And while it’s cooling you down, it’s also freshening the air with its fresh air ionizer.

Pros
  • 360-degree oscillation
  • Space-saving design
  • Freshens air quality
Cons
  • Difficult to clean
  • Easy to tip over

Performance

Unlike the Lasko 2265QM, the power of the Lasko Wind Curve T42950 wasn’t the most powerful fan we’ve seen, but it has a few interesting features that put it above the rest. For starters, it has a 360-degree oscillation as opposed to the 90 degrees the Honeywell QuietSet is limited to. The air current, coupled with the oscillation, made a small room very cool and a medium-sized room comfortable. But, if it’s too noisy, you might want the leading fans for sleeping, instead.

It can also freshen the air around you. With its built-in ionizer, particles like pollen and dust have weight added to them, making them heavy enough to fall to the ground. This process then naturally freshened the air—especially helpful in a baby’s room.

Design

The Lasko Tower T42950 is of the taller variety of fans. Rather than have a focused area, most of the tower is part of the fan. Since its vents are tall, this really helped spread a lot of cool air in a wider arch. On a side note: its slender build made it easy to store, but also easy to tip over. And unfortunately, it isn’t the easiest fan to clean, whereas the Vornado 660 Large Whole Room Air Circulator Fan has a removable grill.

Value

The Lasko T42950 may not be the most powerful fan available, but it gets the job done better than your average run-of-the-mill fan of an unknown brand. It has some really good airflow and you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed if this was your only option—though far superior to an AmazonBasics Oscillating Dual Blade Standing Pedestal Fan, by far. Given its performance, design, and features, we can say for certain it has great value. That also goes for its price.

Lasko T42950 Wrap Up

We really liked the kick behind the Lasko T42950 Tower Fan. It isn’t the easiest to clean, but its ionizer did a good job filtering out unwanted bits in the air and freshening the air we breathe. Place it somewhere it can’t be knocked down from and it will gladly blow air in all directions.
