While you shop around for the best air purifier, you might want to stop for a second and consider whether you should also be checking out the best personal air purifier too. With this in mind, you should put the InvisiClean IC-103 on your watchlist for its stellar battery life and portability.

Why We Like It – InvisiClean IC-103

The InvisiClean IC-103 Personal Air Purifier is a good showing as far as budget-level personal air purifiers go. It has a four-foot range, which is one of the largest we’ve seen on a personal air purifier, let alone a budget one, and the battery is the largest we’ve seen on a personal purifier.

Pros
  • Fantastic 240-Hour Battery
  • Very Lightweight and Portable
  • Good Coverage Range
Cons
  • Not the Most Powerful
  • Loud
  • Lack of Additional Features

Power/Speed

Unlike the MIFAVOR Mini air purifier, the InvisiClean Personal Mini Air Purifier can generate a maximum of 3-3.5 million ions per second or 5 million ions per second if is plugged in. This isn’t necessarily bad in terms of its performance, but it’s not necessarily good either. We’ve definitely seen much higher. Check out the AirTamer A310 for an example of that. You can also check out our Ionpacific Ionbox review for an effective air purifier for your room.

Efficiency

The IC-103 has pretty decent coverage. It’s meant for personal use, so it will only protect the air around you, but it can do so at about a four-foot distance because of the built-in fan, which is pretty good. Check out the Dyson Cool Me for another example of a good area of effect range for personal filters. If you’d love something larger for your room then you can go through our InvisiClean Claro air purifier review, which is designed for large rooms of up to 375 sq ft Further, the battery life on the IC-103 is 240 hours which is the highest we’ve seen, bar none.

Versatility

For a personal air purifier as small as this one we weren’t expecting anything more than a single-stage filtration or just an ionizer. And we were right. Unlike the Medify Air, the IC-103 contains an ionizer that shoos away harmful airborne allergens such as bacteria, smoke, viruses, etc, just like most personal air purifiers. If you want something designed specifically for smoke, though, check out the Smoke Buddy Air Filter.

Durability

The IC-103 weighs a measly 1.4 ounces so it won’t slow you down whether you’re carrying it with or if you have it worn around your neck. Where the IC-103 does fall a little flat is in its noise level. It can produce noise levels of about 60dB thanks to the crackling noise emitted from the ions. For comparison, this is about the same as normal conversion. For something you’ll have close to your face for a good majority of the day, it’s pretty loud.

Value

There are actually two versions of this personal air purifier. One with a fan and one without. And the IC-103 is the one with the fan. And with that, we’ve come to the end of the additional features the IC-103 has to offer. It’s not all bad though. Amazon reviews are okay, if a little sparse. It’s currently unavailable, but it shouldn’t be too expensive when they finally get them back in stock. It does qualify as a budget purifier, after all.

InvisiClean IC-103 Wrap Up

It should be noted that ionizers do tend to emit ozone, and the InvisiClean IC-103 is not an exception to that rule. But if you’ve ever been on the fence about getting a personal air purifier, the IC-103 is a fantastic jumping-off point. Just remember it tends to get loud!
