The Dyson Air Personal Purifying Fan is an excellent personal fan/purifier combo that’s adjustable so you can have air flow directly at you. The Core Flow Technology blasts concentrated cool air at you by pushing two streams of air together. If you prefer your air purification to be a little more traditional, try the AirTamer A310. On the plus side, power consumption on the Dyson is low and will only cost you about $12/year to run.
Efficiency
Dyson Pure Cool Air Purifiers are, by and large, personal air purifiers, like the InvisiClean IC-103, and thus won’t have as great coverage as dedicated room purifiers. However, the Dyson Cool Me may earn distinction here in that it doesn’t give exact coverage. It’s not even available on the Dyson site. Considering its size we’re guessing 15-25 square feet, considering that’s what most personal air purifiers cover. But check out the AVICHE Necklace Wearable Mini for something more concrete.
Versatility
The Dyson Cool Me Personal Cooling Fan uses a True HEPA Filter for purified air free of pollen, bacteria, pet dander, and microns as small as 0.3 microns. If you’d like something specifically for smoking, consider the Smoke Buddy Air Filter. The HEPA filter life on the Dyson is also quite impressive. If you use it every day for 12 hours per day it should still be good for a whole year. More if you use it less than that! Durability
Unlike the AVICHE W3, the Cool Me Personal Fan weighs only five pounds and should be easy to move from room to room, but not so easy to wear around your neck like most other personal air purifiers. It also has 10 adjustable fan speeds so you can set it to your own personal preference, but its noise level hovers around 35-65dB. It’s impressive for a fan, but a little loud for a personal air purifier.
Value
The Dyson Link App isn’t compatible with this model of Cool Me and neither is Alexa. Still, it comes with a remote control which will be essential in controlling the device since the onboard controls are rather limited. Dyson Cool Me Wrap Up
It’s never a bad idea to go with a Dyson product, you just have to know what you’re getting into. The Cool Me can’t be worn around your neck like other personal air purifiers, and it’s a little loud considering it doubles as a fan, but its air purification abilities and long filter life are among the best we’ve seen so far.
