For being a window fan, the Holmes Fan is very lightweight, which is always a welcome design choice. Although it will fit most windows, we would have liked to see exact window measurements to put our minds at ease that this would indeed fit our window. Why We Like It – Holmes Fan
The Holmes Fan fits most double-hung and slider windows and the adjustable extender screen, although a standard feature in most modern air conditioners, is still a welcome addition for a secure fit. It also has independent, electronically reversible motors for better personal control of airflow.

Performance/Power
The Holmes Fan has independent, electronically reversible motors that allow for air intake, exhaust, and air exchange. It has three speed settings, like the Genesis A1, which is quite difficult to find in an air conditioner nowadays believe it or not, and a comfort control thermostat for an extra layer of personal satisfaction.
Durability/Build
The Holmes Fan is designed to fit most double-hung and slider windows. Unfortunately, there are no exact measurements for the window size given like in many fans of its class, such as the Bionaire Dual Window Fan. The Holmes Blizzard fan is actually quite light for a window fan though, weighing in at only 7.5 pounds. It’ll be easy to transport from window to window or from the box to the window.
Noise/Sound Level
The Holmes Fan’s product description reads that it has quiet operation. That’s nice to know, but we would have appreciated it if an exact dB rating was given. Customer reviews when it comes to the noise level are generally positive though. Most say it produces just as much background noise as other top sellers. So we’ll have to trust the customer reviews for this category.
Versatility/Modern Features
The Holmes Fan contains an adjustable extender screen just like its cousin the Holmes Window Fan. This allows the fan to be placed and secured in larger windows without hassle. The fan also contains a water-resistant motor so it can be used while it’s raining outside without needing to worry that it might break.
Value
Just like the Holmes Lil Blizzard Performance table fan, the Holmes Fan may only come in one color, white, but it does also come in two finishes, white or cream. So at least there’s a little choice even if it is just the bare minimum. It comes with a three-year manufacturer warranty, which is quite generous. It’s priced high, at least higher than we’d like, but you can get it priced low if you buy it used, which is an option on Amazon.
Holmes Fan Wrap Up
The Holmes Fan comes with three speed settings, which is an amazing find, but also has a larger price tag attached to it. Still, if you want quality, you’ll need to pay for it. The fan’s motor is also water-resistant, so you’ll be able to use it in the rain without worry on those hot, humid, stormy summer days.
