When looking for a top-rated air purifier, or more specifically the best ionic air purifier, people probably want a purifier that is energy efficient, and the Envion Ionic Pro may be that purifier. It’s both energy-efficient and diverse in the types of contaminants it can trap.

Why We Like It – Envion Ionic Pro

The Envion Ionic Pro can purify the air while barely making any noise, making it suitable to use while the user is sleeping. It also has a filter that’s capable of lasting for years before it needs to be replaced, and can be used in medium to larger rooms.

Pros
  • Filter can last for years
  • Energy efficient
  • For medium and larger rooms
Cons
  • Plastic shell

Power/speed

Air purifiers like this one, and the GermGuardian AC4825E, manage to be quite powerful despite their size and their ability to be power efficient. The Envion purifier delivers great air quality by being able to remove 99.9% of airborne contaminants including mold spores and certain types of bacteria that cause colds and viruses. It captures particles no smaller than 0.1 microns, which are particles smaller than what the Silveronyx air purifier with a True HEPA filter will accept, which is 0.3 microns. This is just like the Elgato Eve Air Quality room sensor, which also doesn’t have a HEPA filter.

Efficiency(room size etc.)

Similar to the Dyson TP04 Pure Cool Tower, it has an area coverage of 500 square feet, making it suitable for medium and larger-sized rooms, being able to completely purify a larger room 3 times in an hour. In terms of area coverage, it surpasses the Pure Enrichment air purifier filter, which has an area coverage of about 190 square feet. Also, while the Envion can destroy certain germs and viruses in the air, the Pure Enrichment purifier doesn’t have that ability, but can filter most of the other things that the Envion can. Versatility (HEPA, what does it filter, odor reduction, etc.)

While it’s not a HEPA air purifier, as the Figo ThinkGA car ionizer also doesn’t have, it still can capture various contaminants through a thorough filtering process. It can purify the air of various allergens, mold spores, odors, staph bacteria, cold and flu viruses, and strep bacteria. The filter can trap all of these contaminants as long as they’re no smaller than 0.1 microns, while being able to last years until they can be replaced.

Durability

The shell is made of thicker plastic, not giving the purifier much protection compared to purifiers that have shells made of fiberglasses, such as the Aeramax 300 purifier, or metal. Also, while it may be a thinner purifier, there are weak points in the form of wide holes that are grouped close together which can make the vulnerability bigger. It weighs 7.8 Lbs., weighing significantly less than the Aeromax 300, which weighs 12.5 Lbs.

Value

What makes this purifier stand out is how it has a filter that can last for years with proper maintenance, and offers to aid in purifying a wide range of contaminants in the air, eliminating almost all of every compatible contaminant. That filter is probably the main factor that determines the overall cost of the purifier, with the ability to operate with barely any noise being the second biggest factor. Envion Ionic Pro Wrap Up

Customer reviews have mostly been positive, praising the purifier for its performance and lack of obvious noise. However, many reviewers have noted that the customer service isn’t the best or the most reliable, and getting replacements for broken parts, especially under warranty, can be quite a hassle.
