If you’re ready for an upgrade, and desperately want to expand your riding time, the best e bikes for women is the Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45. Torque curve alone is smooth, as is the ride. More importantly, it has the ability to hold more than one battery, offering much longer ride times than typical models.

Why We Like It – Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45

With a nice torque curve and SR Suntour Mobie fork, the Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 is one smooth ride. So, take advantage of its extra battery storage to effectively ride for 100 miles.

Durability & Build Quality

Sturdy and lightweight, the Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 continues the tried and true method of aluminum alloy, Kathmandu hybrid frame (frame sizes vary). It between the new integrated Carrier 2.0 are areas to store belongings, like water bottles, etc.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Credit where credit is due, the Bosch drive unit Bosch drive is a natural fit for the Hybrid 45. The Bosch drive unit performance pushes the max speed to 20mph, which is a nice sweet spot, but 8 miles slower than the Liv Thrive E+ 1 Pro. Torque performance has a nice curve to it, especially on hills. The Shimano SLX offers several gear ratios, with a Shimano XT SL-M8100 as its shifter companion.

Range & Battery

A single battery alone can eek out 50 miles, fully charged. But Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 E Bikes have a design that allows for additional batteries, effectively doubling distance traveled. That’s 30 miles more than the Lapierre eSensium 300.

Safety Features

Great and efficient, the Magura MT5e disc brakes are a nice edition to the Cube performance, and compliment Bosch performance quite nicely. The Schwalbe Marathon E Plus, 55-622 are particularly safe, fitted with level 7 puncture protection, with extra protective layers against sharp objects, while being incredibly grippy. There are brake lights, but tail lights would’ve complimented the headlight better.

Value

Since the Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 is a new bike, it isn’t cheap. It has much of the latest higher-end performance, design, and overall build quality speed pedelecs can offer at this time. But is it worth it? Only if you’re ready to upgrade from your budget hybrid e-bike. If you’re a newcomer, you’ll want to cut teeth on the Trek Dual Sport +.

Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 Wrap Up

The Cube Kathmandu Hybrid 45 is best left in the hands of experienced riders, partially due to its price; newcomers should not drop $5000 on a new bike (yet). Only experienced riders can appreciate the torque performance and SR Suntour Mobie fork, a match that makes the journey smooth and enjoyable.
