Getting tired of sitting on your high back mesh or leather back all day? Then perhaps it’s time you tried something different. The Boss Office Products drafting stool might be miles away from what you’re normally used to, but the changes that it’ll bring to your health and body make it well worth trying out. The Dot drafting stool weighs only 15 pounds, takes minutes to assemble, and has a thick cozy padding on the seat that makes it very comfortable to sit on. Let’s see if it’s got what it takes to be the best standing chair around. If you are not a fan of stools or standing chairs, check out our review of the best office chair.

Why We Like It – Boss Office Products DOT Drafting Stool i

The Boss Office Products Dot Drafting Stool is a simple solution for anyone who has the need to sit higher than they regularly do. The stool comes with a pneumatic gas lift for easy height adjustment, and is pretty easy to assemble.

Pros
  • Pneumatic gas lift for easy adjustment
  • Thick padding on seat cushion
  • Available in 6 different colors
Cons
  • Can’t wobble

Support

As is completely obvious, there’s no element of back support on this drafting stool. Because of this, we wouldn’t recommend this chair to anyone who’s having back problems. If you fall under this category though, then the Flash Furniture Mid-Back ergonomic office chair would be a better fit for you because of its ergonomic design and high backrest. If you are fine with a little bit of support, check out our Best Office Products Budget Mesh Task Chair review.

Comfort

The thick padding on the Boss Office drafting stool makes it very comfortable to sit on, and it’s actually thicker than the seat cushion you’ll get on the Modway Veer Drafting chair. This makes it a whole lot better to deal with, and also increases the number of use cases that it applies to.

Adjustability

Adjusting the seat height on this Boss Office chair is very easy to do since the seat comes with a pneumatic gas lift that’s situated just below the seat. The adjustable seat height can be raised from 26.5 inches up to 31 inches, which is roughly a 6 inch vertical height range. This is just 2 inches less than that of the Seville Classics Airlift 360 Sit-Stand Adjustable Ergonomic Active Balance Non-Slip Desk Stool, but if you’re generally a tall person, then this won’t make much of a difference.

Breathability

The mesh fabric that’s used on the Boss Office stool seat is very much breathable, so it’s very unlikely that the seat cushion might get uncomfortably warm. The same cannot be said of the Learniture Adjustable-Height Active Learning Stool though because its seat is made of plastic material.

Value

This Boss Office Products drafting stool is a very easy to use, easy to put together and also easy to adjust. The stools pneumatic gas lift is pretty similar to the one you’d find on a typical office chair, and its black nylon base has dual wheel casters that allow for a 360 degree swivel movement. The stool has a weight capacity of about 275 pounds, which is a good indication of the strong metal frame that the chair is built on.

Boss Office Products DOT Drafting Stool i Wrap Up
