Performance

The AuKing 2600 Lumens Portable Projector 2020 hits all the right targets needed in a projector, without sacrificing too much in other areas, which can also be said for the EZCast Beam J2. For starters, its native resolution is 800×480—which is honestly pretty abysmal—but it supports up to 1080p and 2600 lumens. And that’s what you should be worried about. That means your video source determines most of the quality, not the native resolution. Plus, if you get anything with 500 lumens, as you’ll find in our review of the AAXA P300, you’re probably getting a lemon.

Furthermore, its viewing area is a lot bigger than the Anker Nebula Capsule. Resolution can suffer a bit when increasing the viewing area, which may not be as optimal if you need to use this as an office projector for presentations. You only notice this if you’re sitting too close, however.

However, if you’re interested in more mini projectors with stronger capabilities, then you’ll want to read our latest reviews on the PIQO smart mini projector and the Crosstour mini projector.

Design

As for design, it’s clear sacrifices were made somewhere to justify such a low cost: the AuKing Mini 5500 Hours Multimedia Home Projector’s build quality is a bit cheap. Take care of it, and this will never become an issue. Ports available along the right face are HDMI, VGA, USB, AV, and SD card. With that kind of selection, you can hook up something like an Amazon Fire TV Stick and project it on your wall. Or, you can look at the leading iPhone projectors for mobile connectivity. It just so happens that one of our best, the Dr. J Professional HI-04 1080p, also has HDMI, USB, VGA, SD card, and AV.

Value

Out of all the best mini projectors on our list, AuKing’s LED projector is by far the best deal for a home cinema center at home on a budget. Then if you want to take the movie theater outside and plan on throwing backyard movie nights, there are other outdoor projector reviews as well. At $90 for this projector, you save so much money, enough to invest in a projector screen and better speakers down the road. The icing on the top is free shipping, too. What more could you ask for? Its performance outweighs its shortcomings and even exceeds a few of our best, like the Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector.

AuKing Mini Projector 2020 Review Wrap Up

Everything the AuKing Mini Projector 2020 is makes it one of the best options for a mini projector. It incorporates all the features, albeit locked into a cheap chassis. With 2600 lumens, it works well during the day, but even better at night. Its pricing perfectly matches its performance, and free shipping is tossed in for good measure.
