Creating the best home theater is more than the average person has time or, more importantly, money for. For the best mini projector in terms of performance and pricing, we look to the Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector. Featuring 1080p native resolution and a projection screen of up to 170-inches, it makes a compelling argument.

Performance

Similar to the Vankyo Performance V600, the Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector can support up to 1080p, which is great for playing back Blu-Rays and is the standard for devices like consoles and computers. It performs well when the lights are on, and even better when they’re off. It also helps that the contrast ratio is 2000 to 1, and keystone correction kicks in when needed. The speakers are average, but fit a small room. You can create a projection area of 170-inches, but with such a big screen, some of the image quality is too stretched out. Still, the overall visual quality is really good, and way better than the AuKing Mini Projector 2020.

Design

The biggest plus the Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector has going for it is the number of ports available: HDMI USB, VGA, Micro SD, and AV. Just like the Crosstour Mini projector, which has many similar available ports. This means you can expand upon a few of the projector’s shortcomings, such as plugging in better speakers. And with an HDMI cable, you can take full advantage of Full HD. It comes with a power cable; it is not battery-powered. Thanks to the internal cooling system, it disperses heat very well, with added noise suppression technology to keep it very quiet—a trait it shares with the Dr. J Professional HI-04 1080p.

Value

After considering our Vankyo Leisure 3 portable projector review, everything the projector is capable of doing and what it features, we can certainly mark this projector as having a really good value, which could make it one of the leading cheap projectors. It’s pretty good overall—especially if you’re creating a home theater on a budget. It comes with multiple ports for different types of video streaming, a remote control, long lamp life, and the added carrying case is a nice touch if you want to take it to a friend’s house. And for $120? Its price matches its performance, unlike the Anker Nebula Capsule.

VANKYO LEISURE 3 Mini Projector Review Wrap Up

The Vankyo Leisure 3 Mini Projector is going to serve you well—especially for a budget home theater. It has very good visual quality, plenty of ports to choose from, and can project a screen size of 170-inches at the cost of some image fidelity. With its low price, you can afford to buy better speakers.
