The best streaming device will open up a world of entertainment.

If you still haven’t cut the cord and abandoned cable TV, what are you waiting for? You have plenty of options to find the best streaming media players or boxes to consider for 2019 and the AirTv Mini is another great way to get the content you want. If this small piece of electronics doesn’t convince you to cut the cord, nothing will.

AirTV has introduced a 4K HDR compatible streaming stick, powered by Android TV 9.0. It integrates Sling TV, Netflix and over-the-air channels into a single, easy to use, user interface. And this 2×2 dual band Wi-Fi-enabled device supports 4K HDR streaming. You also get full support for Google Assistant and Google Play as well. Cut The Cord and Get The Content You Want

This device fits in the palm of your hand and all you need to do is plug it into your television’s HDMI port and you are good to go. As soon as it is connected, the Sling TV app will launch, which has Netflix built-in. Aside from Netflix, you will also have access to thousands of apps from Google Play. It’s that simple. Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Google Assistant built-in
  • 4K HDR compatible

Cons:

  • None that I could find

Build Quality And Design

It’s a streaming stick, so there’s not much here design-wise. I did love the remote though. It is super easy to use and intuitively laid out. I don’t like most remotes, but I feel they nailed this one and got it just right.

Performance

It’s all powered by Android TV and supports Google Assistant using a button on the remote. Whenever you need Google Assistant, just press the remote button to get the weather, your favorite sports scores, traffic and much more.

Plus you can control your smart home devices like lighting, special outlets and thermostats, making your life a whole lot more streamlined. It also has a handy Netflix button on the remote to launch the Netflix app when it is time to binge-watch your favorite shows and a Sling TV shortcut button. It all works great and I can’t really complain about anything.

Bottom Line

As I said, this will make you cut the cord for sure. It works great and is for anyone who is still looking to ditch cable. Your soundbar won’t feel left out either since the AirTV Mini remote can control both televisions and soundbars. I like that the voice controls are app-sensitive too, meaning that you can find a specific show or movie within the app you are using because that always annoys me when a device does not have this feature.

If you want to get in on the action right now, existing Sling TV customers can get the AirTV Wi-Fi-enabled network tuner with an indoor antenna free as long as they prepay for three months of Sling TV.
