Adobe Illustrator Draw Review

Along with Adobe Color CC, Adobe also updated the Adobe Illustrator Draw app. The newly updated iOS app allows users to create freeform illustrations using vector drawing tools. To make sure your banking needs are ready for this revolution to your art career, you may want to look at some of the best personal finance software for Mac.

What makes the Adobe Illustrator Draw one of the best software apps? Let’s find out…

Adobe Illustrator Draw has a sleek and simplified interface that is approachable for new mobile artists, but also robust enough for the seasoned illustrator to be considered useful. In fact, you’d be astonished at some of the artwork that the Adobe community has created with the Illustrator Draw app. The app allows you to browse community creations easily, and even allows you to follow certain artists and “appreciate” their work (equivalent to a Facebook “like”). Unfortunately, there aren’t very many community drawings yet available for your viewing pleasure — at least there aren’t many available to view within the app. Still, the drawings that are there are absolutely stunning. But, more importantly, the Adobe Illustrator Draw app is a virtual playground to amuse your inner artistic needs. There are six brushes available, each of which can be re-sized from hairline to paintbrush size. Opacity can be edited, as well as color via a wheel and slider (or you can use stock color themes or themes you’ve created in Adobe Color CC). There’s also a “Color History” which keeps track of your most recently used colors, which comes in handy.

Another great feature of the app is that it allows you to draw on top of a photo — either a photo you’ve taken with your device, a photo you’ve downloaded to your device, or a photo you’ve downloaded via the in-app market (which has a plethora of free photos, vectors, patterns and backgrounds for your use). This is a great way to not only express your own self artistically, but to also upload a coloring page and let your child go to town.

And still, there are more tools at your disposal, including a line and shape tool which allows you to create a perfect straight line, square, triangle or circle. Of course, there’s also a share feature that allows you to get feedback on your creation, email it or save it directly to your device to share however you please.

For a free app, Adobe Illustrator Draw certainly offers an unprecedented number of useful tools for illustration. And best of all, there’s no annoying in-app ads. Getting the idea from your head onto your tablet is as easy as ever, and sharing it with your friends (or the community) for feedback is a breeze. The app can be downloaded from the App Store.
