The UE Boom 3 is one of the earlier additions to UE’s Bluetooth range of speakers that offer excellent sound quality, with accurate bass that does not distort your music. The portable Bluetooth speaker comes in night black, storm, lagoon blue, moon, sunset red, and ultraviolet purple. Performance
The UE Boom 3 can be used to stream from Apple music if you’re an iOS user, or Deezer if you’re on Android. Otherwise, you can use the Boom App on your phone to control your playlist. The Boom speakers also don’t have that many buttons on them. There’s only the power button, Bluetooth pairing button, and the Magic button on top that’s used to play or pause. At 90 decibels, this speaker is also likely to make your ears boom if you turn the volume up enough. It’s loud enough to be heard outdoors and rivals a lot of other Bluetooth speakers such as the Bose Soundlink Revolve in this regard. Design
With a similar build to the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox, the UE Boom 3 bears a compact yet rugged design that allows you to carry it wherever you go, and has a distinct color palette that makes it nice to look at. Its fabric is of the same material that’s used to make fire equipment, and this adds greatly to its durability. If you look at the speaker’s fabric grille, you’ll find the volume buttons etched into it which makes for a fantastic design. Like a lot of wireless speakers, the Ultimate Boom 3 has its charging port housed by a compartment at its back, and on a full charge, it has an okay battery life of about 15 hours. If you’d like to stretch that to 20 hours though, you should consider the JBL Charge 4. It has the rights reserved for an overnight party.
Value
The UE Boom 3 costs only about $20 or so more than its predecessor, and for that you get a product that has an IP67 certification, meaning it can be submerged underwater for up to 30 minutes and is also dustproof. The Ultimate Ears boom 3 unfortunately doesn’t come with its own charging dock, so buyers will be forced to purchase it separately. Aside from that, music can be pretty easy to control once you have your boom app setup. You’ll also be able to pair it with other speakers for a louder sound experience especially when outdoors. Price-wise, if the Boom 3 is still above your budget, then perhaps the Anker Soundcore will make for a more comfortable purchase.

The Ultimate Ears Boom 3 might not be as loud as its range of megaboom speakers, but it still packs enough of a punch to hold a party down. It remains a fine selection in UE’s range of speakers, and one you should get if you hope to be moving around with your music a lot.
