The Soundworks Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker is lightweight and durable, possesses great sound quality for such a tiny device, and is one of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market today. Its average battery life may be a letdown to some, but 15.5 hours is more than enough to last you through the day and then charge overnight.

Why We Like It – Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker

The Cambridge Soundworks Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth speaker is an affordable entry point into the world of Bluetooth speakers. It may lack all the fancy bells and whistles more high-end Bluetooth speakers in the United States do, but it also lacks their astronomical price too. After all, what more does a speaker need to do than play audio with quality and efficiency?

Performance

The Cambridge Soundworks Oontz 3 portable Bluetooth speaker clocks it at an average of 15.5 hours of battery life. This is about 3 hours better than the manufacturer’s specs, which is nice, but is also fairly average for Bluetooth speakers. The 24-hour battery life on the Anker Soundcore is outstanding and should be on your mind if battery life is important to you when buying a portable Bluetooth speaker. The built-in microphone allows it to work with phone calls and you would be surprised at the great sound such a mini Bluetooth speaker can produce. The passive bass radiator on the Soundworks Oontz Angle 3 produces punchy bass for crisp highs, strong mids, and deep lows.

Design

One of the great things about the Cambridge Soundworks Oontz portable speaker is that it’s IPX5 water-resistant. You can take it into the shower with you and sing along to your tunes until your heart’s content without damaging it. If you really want to submerge your speaker in water, the JBL Charge 4 and the JBL jblcharge3blkam waterproof portable bluetooth have an IPX7 water-resistant rating. The portable speaker also stays true to its pyramidal design adding both quality and familiarity to the device and the ability to remain stable on most surfaces (never underestimate the value of that).

Value

At a mere $26 on amazon.com the Soundworks Oontz Angle Bluetooth speaker isn’t just an affordable entry point, it’s a steal. It’s certainly a lower price than the Philips ShoqBox SB7200, but is the sound quality better? The Oontz Angle 3 also comes with an audio cable that lets you hook it up to potentially non-Bluetooth devices such as your TV. It’s also quite portable because of its small size. Bringing it around and hooking it up to other TVs in your home shouldn’t be a problem. If you want the most portability with token sound quality the Bose SoundLink Color II offers both in spades.

Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker Wrap Up

The Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker doesn’t have a lot of the fancy bells and whistles a lot of the high-end Bluetooth speakers do, but that’s what makes it so perfect for beginners or people who just want to wirelessly play music. In this respect, the Oontz Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker shines.
