Why We Like It – TRAX GPS Tracker

All in one GPS tracking devices are hard to find nowadays. But the TRAX GPS Tracker is an all in one GPS tracking device that is pretty much readily available. And it’s not “all in one,” just for the name’s sake. It truly is useful in almost every use case.

Pros
  • Updates every 10 seconds for real time tracking
  • Mainly uses 3G, 2G fallback available
  • Wireless charging supported, charger included in the box
Cons
  • Support seems to be pretty bad

Performance

This TRAX device has a built-in e-SIM card, just like the Whistle 3 GPS Pet Tracker. But the difference here is that it’s not limited by the capabilities of 2G GSM GPRS. It uses a 3G cellular network and updates the current location on the free app every 10 seconds.

Battery

The manufacturer WTS Positioning Solutions AB included a pretty sizable battery in this real time tracking TRAX device. So the battery life should be pretty great. And you can improve the battery life even more by turning off different things like the proximity alerts if you don’t need them. In case you need even better battery life, you can go for the Whistle Cat Tracker instead.

Ease Of Use

The smartphone web app TRAX Experience is extremely easy to use. You can even use augmented reality there (if your smartphone supports Google ARCore) in order to quickly locate the GPS tracker using an arrow and your rear camera. It’s a lot more convenient than you can imagine. And it’s very easy to control many trackers (track multiple devices simultaneously). The app honestly is even better than the one that comes with the Weenect 2 Cat Tracker.

Durability

Granted, it might get dirty over time if you’re using it as a pet tracker. Still, it’s built like a tank from top to bottom. So don’t worry; this real time tracking device won’t break after a couple of drops.

Value

If you have 150 bucks to spend, this real time GPS tracker is most definitely a worthy pick up. At just $4 per month, the data plan should be low enough for most pet owners in order to receive alerts.

TRAX GPS Tracker Wrap Up

The TRAX GPS Tracker is fantastic overall. And the fact that all European countries come under the list of supported countries is another plus point.
