Not all of the Best GPS Tracker options available on the market are suitable for pets. However, the Tagg Pet Tracker, as the name suggests, is almost exclusively made for pets. And a few build quality concerns aside, it has the potential to be the Best Cat GPS Tracker below 100 bucks (Over 10 lbs). Check out our best GPS tracker reviews for more great product recommendations.

Why We Like It – Tagg Pet Tracker

Pet trackers are pretty much essential nowadays. And the Tagg Pet Tracker is absolutely the perfect pairing for your small pet. It provides almost real-time location info straight into the phone app for both cats and dogs, along with notifications.

Pros
  • Tagg app is available for both iOS and Android
  • 2-3 days of battery life
  • Pretty sleek looking for a tracking device
Cons
  • Not suitable for smaller pets (10 lbs or below)

Performance

For activity tracking, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better than Tagg Pet Tracker at this price. Obviously, it’s not as good as something like the Whistle Cat Tracker, but it’s very close. The GPS tracking system only has about three minutes of delay.

Battery

The Tagg Pet Tracker lasts about 2-3 days after you charge it fully from the charging dock. Now, that should be more than enough for pet tracking. And pet owners won’t even have to worry; it does charge pretty fast. If you need even better battery life, you should go for the Whistle 3 GPS Pet Tracker. But then you’d be missing out on the excellent Tracker Tagg system.

Ease Of Use

The mobile app is very intuitive and easy to use. And it’s available for both Android and iOS, so no matter which platform you’re on, you’d still be able to use it with all functionalities. However, the app is pretty barebones in terms of location data. For example, you can’t see the last location in terms of exact latitude and longitude in the app. You have to open up a browser for that, which is pretty much unacceptable. Even the Weenect 2 Cat Tracker has a better app.

Durability

The overall durability of the Tagg GPS Pet Tracker is pretty decent. But the failure rate of this thing is pretty bad. And it’s made with a certain kind of material that gets dirty very quickly.

Value

Overall, this is pretty much as good as it gets below 100 bucks. And the fact that you can set a specific Tagg zone, a Home zone, and a Safe zone speaks volumes about the usability of this product. So it most definitely is a value for money pet tracker.

Tagg Pet Tracker Wrap Up

If you need a pet tracker on a budget, the Tagg Pet Tracker is the GPS tracker to go for. If you have a pet that weighs above 10 lbs, it’s perfect.
