For those looking for a pair of wireless earbuds they can rely on in terms of sound and build quality, Sennheiser is here to deliver. Their Momentum line doesn’t just table in over-ear headphones. They took the performance and quality of that line and shrank it down to in-ear earbuds, making them one of the best earbuds you should get your hands on. Compare the Sennheiser to our similar Zipbuds earbud headphone review before you choose your headphones.

Why We Like It – Sennheiser Momentum Review

Sennheiser shrank their great Momentum line into a pair of wireless in-ear buds, bringing high-quality performance and build quality into a tiny, but powerful pair of earbuds. You’ll see the same power in the Motorola VerveOne earbuds. You should compare them to the Logitech UE 4000 on-ear headphones.

Pros
  • Good sound quality
  • Great wireless connection
  • Brand recognition
Cons
  • Lacks noise cancellation
  • Need the app for better control

Performance

The most striking experience when using Sennheiser Momentum Earbuds is the clarity, whether it’s a mid or high note, or a low bass note. This isn’t surprising considering this is Sennheiser we’re talking about, and not the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1. That quality extends the shell as well, making use of durable, tough, and splash-resistant materials to handle a multitude of environments. It puts the Shure SE215 to shame. Battery life hovers around 4 hours. That’s certainly on the shorter side, but what’s great is the charging case can hold two additional charges for a total of 12 hours.

Design

Unlike the Jaybird X2, the Sennheiser Momentum Earbuds can be a bit of a chore to use, at first. For better control, you’ll need to use the Smart Control app. You can then adjust the sound accordingly; otherwise, you’ll be using touch controls to access your voice assistant, audio playback, and so on. For example, you tap the right earbud to activate Google Assistant or Siri.

What you won’t find is active noise canceling. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless Earbuds use noise isolation instead. It’s inferior to noise-canceling, but better than nothing. If you’re seeking noise-canceling earbuds, check out Bose QuietComfort 20.

Value

It’s hard to argue with a price like that for a pair of Sennheiser headphones. What really seals the deal, however, has to be its wireless connection strength. Far too often earbuds fall into a trap of sounding good, but making sacrifices to their connection. You won’t find that problem with these earbuds. Sennheiser incorporated support for aptX-Low latency, providing the best available Bluetooth codecs and improving the wireless connection.

With that said, if you still want that Sennheiser quality without touch controls and Bluetooth, check out Sennheiser Momentum wireless headphones. They’re still a part of the Momentum line. For a sporty pair, you’ll want to read our Sennheiser CX Sport review.

Sennheiser Momentum Review Wrap Up

Sennheiser isn’t a slouch when it comes to audio performance, and the Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear True Wireless Earbuds certainly deliver, considering their price. What’s arguably its best feature is its great wireless connectivity. Aside from the lack of noise cancellation and a slight learning curve, the earbuds, at the very least, have noise isolation.
