Perfect to keep the music pumping when you’re at the gym, the Sennheiser CX Sport wireless earphones have gained a strong reputation, especially among users that have an active lifestyle. The wireless headphones come with an IPX4 resistance rating, meaning they’ll be just fine even when you have them on and are covered in sweat, or you’re out caught up in light showers during your morning run. Another water-resistant pair you might like is the Yurbuds Limited Edition focus sport earphones.

Other earbuds without water resistance include Panasonic open-ear bone-conduction headphones, Jaybird X2, and the OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2.

The sports earphones have a healthy battery life of six hours, and though they do offer up to an hour of playback after a quick 10-minute charge, it takes about 1.5 hours to be charged to full capacity. To see what else these ear headphones are capable of, take the time to delve deeper into this Sennheiser CX Sport review, and find out whether or not these are the best earbuds that you could go for in 2020.

Why We Like It – Sennheiser CX Sport Review

The Sennheiser CX Sport wireless headphones come from a brand that has been around for ages, and created a solid reputation for its products. If you’re looking for a reliable set of headphones that won’t disappoint you in the gym, the CX Sports ear headphones are definitely worth your consideration. But, compare the Sennheiser 6XX vs 58X to see which ones are superior.

Pros
  • IPX4 water resistance
  • Lightweight
  • Easy Bluetooth connectivity
Cons
  • No noise-canceling feature

Performance

The 6-hour battery life of the CX Sport doesn’t match up to the 8 hours that you’ll get with the Shure SE215, but it still means you’ll be able to enjoy good sound quality for a lengthy period of time, whether you’re using an Android or iOS device as your audio source. The wireless earphones rely on Bluetooth technology to establish a link to your device, and support audio codecs such as AAC, APTX, and APTX-LL to transmit the true quality of your music. As a result, the CX Sports headphones don’t disappoint, with clear lows as well as highs that don’t get distorted at top volume.

Design

The build quality of the CX Sport wireless headphones feels solid to the touch, and at such a lightweight, it won’t feel like you have anything around your neck once you put them on. Also, to ensure a snug fit, the ear headphones come with three sizes of ergonomically designed ear fins that help keep the earphones in place, and up to four sizes of ear tips to ensure they get as comfortable as can be. Lastly, the high-quality earphones are only available in black and green, but if this isn’t a color combo that works for you, then maybe you should check out the Sennheiser Momentum In-ear earphones that come in either black & red or black & chrome.

Value

The CX Sport Sennheiser workout headphones may earn considerable praise for their ability to connect to the two devices that it most recently paired with once you switch them on. This is convenient because it takes you only a few minutes to get your music going, so that you can jump into your workout in no time. The one feature that we would have liked it to include is noise cancellation, but this would have probably pushed the price up higher, so we’ll let it slide. If that’s a feature that you just can’t do without, then maybe the Bose QuietComfort 20 could be worth a look. Also, despite being in a considerably higher price range compared to what it has to offer, the CX Sport wireless headphones beat a lot of other Bluetooth connectors in durability, and this is what you want especially if you’re going to be moving around a lot.

Sennheiser CX Sport Review Wrap Up

Next time when you head to the gym and you spot anyone with a green pair of headphones on, chances are high that they’re using the Sennheiser CX Sport ear headphones. You might not feel alright walking over and asking about them, but that should be proof enough that Sennheiser is a brand that people trust.
