Despite being a budget ultrabook, the Lenovo Yoga 720 sure doesn’t make that kind of first impression. It comes in a sleek and compact design, and a screen that also allows you to switch quickly between tablet mode and laptop mode. It also packs a lot of heat under the hood, and has a battery life that’s long enough to get you through a day’s work. Its 13-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display keeps everything nice and crisp, and its 114% coverage of the sRGB spectrum edges out competitors like the HP Spectre x360 at 113%. If you want a laptop that’s a bit bigger, take a look at our article on how the Precision m6400 by Dell sports a 17-inch workstation. These features and more should qualify the Lenovo Yoga 720 to be considered whenever you’re looking for the best ultrabook for your computing needs. Compare the specs in the Lenovo with the Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA to make sure you’re making the right choice. Why We Like It – Lenovo Yoga 720

Built for those with flexibility at the top of their mind, the Lenovo Yoga is a perfect example of a convertible that’s powerful enough to design, and still flexible enough to watch movies on. It comes packed with an Intel Core i5-7200u processor, and an Intel HD Graphics 630 GPU for gaming. Compare this laptop with the laptop found in our explanation of how Sony collaborates with Billabong on Rad VAIO with special edition too.

Pros
  • Full HD, Touchscreen display
  • Sleek design & light weight
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • No SD-Card reader

Performance

With the Windows 10 Home operating system pre-installed, the Yoga 720 comes ready to work straight from the shop. Its impressive graphic performance is powered by the presence of a Intel HD Graphics 630 graphics card, and is backed by a strong Intel core i5-7200u processor. It’s good battery life doesn’t match that of the Asus Zenbook 14 at 14 hours, but it does keep going for up to 8 hours. Its touch enabled screen gets also easier to use & write on with the aid of an active pen. If you do choose to go for this laptop, you have to choose from: There’s the more expensive one that comes with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD storage, or the more affordable model that has 4GB RAM and a 128GB storage drive.

Design

You won’t have that many color choices with the Yoga 720, since it only comes in Silver. This however, is not to say that its looks are anything to complain about. The Lenovo Yoga bears a slim design, and has a 360 degree hinge that lets you move the display back and forth depending on the mode that you want to use it in. It’s 1080p screen resolution though isn’t as good as that of the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 at 2256 x 1504 pixels. The Ultrabook weighs about 2.8 pounds, which is more or less the same as the HP Spectre x360. The laptop is also equipped with Dolby Atmos software, adding greatly to the quality of sound that you get from its on-board speakers.

Value

If you look closely at the different versions of the Yoga 720 that are available in the market, you might notice some subtle differences. There’s a version that features an Intel HD graphics card while another sports an Nvidia GPU (like the Razer Blade Stealth which is great for gaming), or one has a 12-inch screen and another has a 13-inch. These are differences that help assemble the perfect Yoga 720 as per your needs, and a core part of those differences have a lot to do with HD graphics. Laptops like this Ultrabook are meant to fit into your lifestyle in whatever way they can, even if it means having discrete variations just so that you get exactly what you want or need.

Lenovo Yoga 720 Wrap Up

An Ultrabook is the kind of laptop that can adapt to your needs and mobility, and the Yoga 720 is capable of doing exactly that. While it does come with a serious demeanour that may attract mobile professionals, it may also be used for light creative design, or even gaming for when you need to take a break from work.
