The Lasko YF202 Oscillating Tower Fan doesn’t take up a lot of space thanks to its very slim design, and its four speeds allow for the highest velocity airflow we’ve seen in a top-tier fan so far. It’s a little on the heavy side, but the carrying handle on the back should help you move it around.

Why We Like It – Lasko YF202

The Lasko YF202 is an outdoor fan that has all the outdoor features and protections you want. It’s weather-resistant, so you don’t have to worry if weather conditions are less than ideal, and the 10-foot power cord lets you place it practically anywhere. It also has four speeds, which so far makes it the most powerful outdoor fan we’ve seen.

Pros
  • Doesn’t Take Up A lot of Space
  • High Velocity Airflow
  • Power Cord built with in-line GFCI
Cons
  • Heavy
  • Just a little bit loud
  • No Remote Control

Performance/Power

The Lasko YF202 Outdoor Fan features impressive four-speed settings whereas most other fans only have three speeds. You can check out the B-Air FIRTANA if you’d like a more traditional three-speed fan. At four speeds. The Lasko YF202 provides high-velocity airflow and more customizable airflow without having to sacrifice comfort.

Durability/Build

The Lasko YF202 Outdoor Living Tower Fan is designed for use in an outdoor space. To this effect, it’s weather-resistant and UV-protected. This makes it an ideal fan for decks, patios, and porches. The Lasko YF202 is a tall yet slim fan, and thus can easily blend into a space without causing much of a ruckus with your home decor and without taking up too much space. It’s a little on the heavy side, relatively speaking, so consider the Ryobi Fan if you’d like something lighter. For other durable units, check out the Lasko Air Stick Tabletop fan, PELONIS 36-inch Tower fan, and the iLIVING ILG8E18 Wall Mount fan.

Sound/Noise Level

The Lasko YF202 Outdoor Use Tower Fans claim to blow air at all four speeds quietly. While Lasko doesn’t directly state what the dB levels are, customer reviews have commented on how quiet the fan is. Some have measured, and the results are between 57dB to 91dB depending on your speed settings. While it may be a tad bit louder you must take into consideration that the extra speed setting means it is more powerful and thus makes it a bit noisier. So, this might not be the best fan for a baby room.

Versatility/Modern Features

The Lasko Outdoor Fan doesn’t come with a remote control, unfortunately. But that’s just as well, it’s a lot easier to lose a remote outside than it is inside. Lasko Fans tower above the rest, though, because they are ETL Listed and have a 10-foot power cord with in-line GFCI. Not only does this give you a larger array of placement options, but you also won’t need to worry about the power cord malfunctioning or causing harm during a humid day in the backyard.

Value

The Lasko YF202 fan is the perfect fan for your outdoor get-togethers with family or friends or if you simply just want to relax in your backyard and contemplate life’s philosophical mysteries. A soft cloth is more than enough to clean the outside of the fan, and a vacuum with a brush attachment can be used for the inside. Lasko YF202 Wrap Up

The Lasko YF202 is a little louder than most other fans in its class, but we can chalk that up to it being more powerful than they are too. The lack of a remote control does seem like a waste, but it’s a small price to pay for having a power cord that won’t malfunction and burn when temperatures soar past 90 degrees thanks to the humidity.
