When thinking about the best air purifier, you would do well to consider a Honeywell. I know they probably aren’t known for making the best air purifier for babies, and are more known for smart home technologies and alerts (a water leak and such), but they have put forth a good effort with the HPA300.

Unlike the Blueair Blue Pure 211, the Honeywell HPA300 features a two-stage filtration system that begins with a pre-filter with an activated carbon filter in it to capture larger particles. If you want something specifically for mold, you should consider the Levoit LV-PUR131S. The HPA300 also has two indicator lights to let you know when either the pre-filter or regular filter needs changing. Efficiency
Thankfully, the Honeywell is designed for the rooms. It can purify a generous room size of 465 square feet, which is less than half what the IQAir HealthPro Plus can cover. If you’re looking for something that can both purify and humidify, check out the Levoit H132. Unfortunately, the HPA300 has a larger-than-average power consumption of 40-130 watts. This means you’ll be paying about $50 per year to run it.
Versatility
In addition to the pre-filter, the HPA300 also uses a True HEPA Filter to capture 99.97% of germs as small as 0.3 microns. These germs include anything from dust and pollen to smoke and mold spores, and everything in between. Durability
The HPA300 isn’t going to be a light machine like most other purifiers. In fact, at 22 pounds, it’s probably one of the heavier machines we’ve seen. It depends on whether you want to sacrifice weight for power. The other downside is that the HPA300 can get rather loud. It can definitely wake a sleeping baby, so having it on at night, or during nap time, probably isn’t a good idea.
Value
Home comfort is the name of the game when it comes to Honeywell. The smart home thermostats and smart home security systems are probably what they are best known for. But their air purifiers shouldn’t really be written off. Sure, they aren’t compatible with the Honeywell Home App, but their true value comes in their power and cleaning ability. And they have the basic features, such as adjustable fan speeds and timers, to get the job done. The HPA300 is a good effort from Honeywell, even with its drawbacks. You probably won’t be moving it out of the baby’s room anytime soon so the weight shouldn’t be a problem. It’s a little loud, sure, but you can just run it in the baby’s room while the baby is awake and having some parent’s time.
