Aesthetics do matter to users, and if there’s anything the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad has over the best keyboard is style. That metal chassis fitted with white keys looks so good beside an Apple computer. And it just so happens the keyboard performs well, too, with the added benefit of a numeric keypad. It’s certainly one of the best computer accessories on the market right now. Although, for other keyboards with great performance, you’ll want to read our Arteck HB030B slim review and RII I4 Mini review. And one of the best wireless keyboards too.

Why We Like It – Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad

Fitted with a rechargeable battery and Bluetooth connectivity, the original Apple Magic Keyboard gets a boost in features with this full-size variant that includes a number pad.

Pros
  • Scissor mechanism keys respond well to typing
  • Rechargeable via Lightning cable
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Expensive for a basic Bluetooth keyboard

Performance

The comfort and aesthetic of the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad are unmatched; it looks good and the scissor mechanism keys respond well to pressure for a comfortable typing experience. And, you can make your experience better by knowing how to add language to your keyboard. Keys are spaced apart nicely, which is a plus when writing. However, one could argue the Razer Huntsman Elite Gaming Keyboard has a leg up on it, especially for gaming.

Now let’s talk about battery life. On a full charge, you can get an impressive month of life out of this Apple keyboard. For a wireless keyboard that seems short—wireless keyboards using batteries can last a year. But remember: this is rechargeable.

Design

What’s also been so appealing about the Apple Magic Keyboard is its aesthetic. Its simplistic layout looks so good against its high-quality metal chassis, a design choice we wish more keyboards would adopt. For another keyboard with a unique design, check out our Cyclops wireless keyboard review. With this model, you have the added numeric keypad. Even with that, it still manages to be really compact, being 17.36 x 5.03 x 0.78 inches. Along the back is a Lightning port that isn’t just for charging, but for straight-to-PC connection if you don’t want to use Bluetooth, a feature missing from the Logitech K400. Value

We aren’t knocking the performance behind the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. That added keypad gave us all the more reason to use it in other situations, like creating spreadsheets or finance applications. However, one could argue it’s a bit overpriced. Stepping back from its nice design and performance, it’s a fairly basic Bluetooth keyboard. If you aren’t keen on spending $130 on a simple keyboard, then you can always go for a Redragon S101, which comes with a mouse bundled inside and is good for gaming.

Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad Wrap Up

If you love Apple products, you’ll be happy with the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. It works wonderfully, especially those scissor keys, it’s rechargeable, and the design has such a high-quality look and feel to it. You won’t be disappointed, provided you’re willing to spend $130 on what is essentially a basic Bluetooth keyboard.
