Why We Like It – Anker Nebula Mars II

Capable of projecting a screen size of 150 inches, the Anker Nebula Mars II defies expectations with its smaller form factor, in addition to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 10W speakers.

Performance & Resolution

Projecting from the Anker Nebula Mars II and you’ll see its native resolution is only 720p. To be fair, that’s still HD, but 1080p would’ve been far better and is pretty standard these days, like the BenQ EP5920 digital projector. Thankfully, image quality stays relatively nice even when stretched to the highest screen size of 150 inches. That’s 30 inches bigger than the Asus Zenbeam E1. But, the Vamvo L4200 portable video projector has a screen size of 200 inches, which is much bigger. However, all these top projectors are under $1000, making them affordable.

Brightness & Lumens

With only 500 ANSI lumens, the Anker Mars II Pro is only packing a third of what your average home cinema projectors have. It drops even lower, to just 200 ANSI lumens, when you run off the battery (in battery mode). Using this during the day will be difficult, so for a clear picture, you’ll want a dark room or nighttime setting. if you want a projector with a maximum of 2,200 ANSI lumens, which guarantees a clear viewing experience even in the presence of ambient light, making it an excellent projector for outdoor use or during daylight hours indoors, try the BenQ HT2050A 1080p DLP or the Dr. J professional HI-04 mini projector outdoor movie projector

Adjustability & Viewing Angles

Lost the remote control? Don’t worry! It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection. Connect to the Nebula Connect app (available on iOS App Store and Android) and you can use your smart device as a remote. The Anker Nebula Mars II helps make adjustments automatically via autofocus. That means you’ll always get the best image quality, even when you extend to the largest screen size, which is 150-inches.

Durability

The Anker Nebula Mars II is surprisingly sturdy, with a small handle for carrying. Lamp life is rated for 30000 hours, which can last for several years. Battery life, however, could be better. Three hours is still enough for a good movie. Speakers are particularly good for 10W speakers, with an admirable amount of bass. Aside from wireless, it also has HDMI, USB, and Bluetooth.

Value

What Anker attempted to do is strike a balance between brightness, battery life, and image quality, within a portable shell. If we graded the Anker Nebula Mars II like a school paper, it would get a solid C+. The greatest appeal it has is portability, so if you’re pitching ideas often, we highly recommend the Anker Nebula Mars II. For personal use, the TMY V08 720p Native Projector is cheaper and has the same specs (minus wireless connectivity). For quality, the BenQ TK850 Projector has a 4K resolution.

Anker Nebula Mars II Wrap Up

You can get pretty snug with the Anker Nebula Mars II as your home theater, despite its so-so 720p Anker Nebula Mars II native resolution. You don’t even need to connect a device; it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth! We highly recommended you stick to dark settings though, considering its lumens are on the low side.
