Performance
When it comes to performance, the Swagtron T580 Hoverboard doesn’t exactly impress us. But for a kid? Absolutely! Its motor power is pretty average, only pushing the self balancing scooter up to 7.5 mph. That’s not super fast, but it is fast enough for a kid just learning how to use one.
There’s even several riding modes for different experienced riders such as: learning mode, standard mode, and advanced mode. That’s nice considering you can’t add an AUBESTKER Handlebar Kickstand Kit to it; otherwise you’re still getting a smooth ride. Perhaps not as smooth as, say, a Segway Ninebot S or Segway miniLite, but again, good enough for a small child.
Design
Even with the T580’s lightweight design, it’s a rather durable piece of equipment, and looks good with its curves, divots, and finish of blue red and black. Given that it’s built with Bluetooth speakers, it has to be tough. You wouldn’t want it breaking after a few rides.
The biggest negative against the Swagtron T580 is its smart battery. It doesn’t last very long, only running for about 50 minutes. For a child though, that’s plenty of time to goof around with it.
