Speed/Power
The Smoke Buddy Original Personal Air Filter is a little bit different from your average personal air filter. It doesn’t necessarily act like an air filter where you can disperse airborne contaminants coming close to your mouth. You blow the smoke into the device and out the other end comes fresh air. Efficiency
Unlike the Bissell MyAir 2780A, the Smoke Buddy doesn’t disperse airborne contaminants, it doesn’t have an area of effect. On a slightly positive note, it also means you don’t have to charge it and waste electricity, so I guess you can save on money there. Versatility
There isn’t any versatility to speak of when it comes to the smoke buddy. It fillers smoke, and that’s it. If you want more versatility, check out the Dyson Cool Me which can filter smoke and many other things. The main draw to filtering just smoke, however, is that you will be able to protect your friends and family from your second-hand smoke. Durability
The Smoke Buddy is made from environmentally friendly materials, so that’s a huge plus in my book. The Smoke Buddy is also very compact and lightweight. At 2.4 ounces it’s one of the lightest personal filters, and I’m lumping all personal filters together here, we’ve seen. It even includes a Smoke Buddy keychain with an LED light when your purchase.
Value
The Smoke Buddy is rated to last for about 300 uses. This can sound like a lot, or little, depending entirely on how much you smoke. Another way to look at it is that it lasts for about 18 packs of cigarettes. Again, this means it can last 18 days or 18 months, it depends on you. But if you do want to at least try it out, it’s cheap enough to at least get the ball rolling. The Smoke Buddy is a very, very specifically designed product. But in my experience focusing on one thing makes that one thing trump all others. The Smoke Buddy is probably the best at filtering smoke, but at the cost of virtually everything else. But if that sounds good to you, then, by all means, go for it and pick one up.
