What the Samsung UN75TU8000FXZA does beautifully, above all else, is provide excellent picture quality. Its Crystal UHD display brings out shades of colors you didn’t think existed. And with 75-inches of screen, there’s plenty to ogle. If picture quality is what you’re after, this might be the best 4K TV to consider. Or, check out our best TVs list for more options.

Why We Like It – SAMSUNG UN75TU8000FXZA

With its Crystal display, you’re seeing colors and shades that a regular HDTV simply can’t compete with. This is in addition to its 4K UHD resolution and 75-inch screen size.

Pros
  • Crystal UHD display is beautiful
  • 75-inch screen size
  • Auto Game Mode is handy for gaming
Cons
  • A tad overpriced
  • Smart features are a bother

Performance

The Samsung UN75TU8000FXZA hits all the right notes when it comes to picture quality. Colors are vibrant, accurate, and shades of colors you would never find on a simple-minded HDTV. Its success comes from its Crystal display; colors are vivid and crisp. And with Auto Game Mode, you get a reduction in response time. Performance does suffer when viewing at an angle. Samsung didn’t incorporate any viewing angle technology, so at 50 degrees you’ll notice a slight decline. Smart apps come built into this smart TV Samsung has created. The interface is easy to navigate, but it can often be a bother to access. Crashing apps are common, though using Alexa and Bixby Voice is better off. This is very unlike the Samsung Q7F.

Design

The Samsung UN75TU8000FXZA is 75-inches of 4K Crystal UHD TV. Design-wise, it’s simple; there’s a leg on each end, similar to the TCL 55R617. You’ll need a big stand to place it on or mount it to a wall, which the ports in the back are angled to support that option. One notable feature is its borderless bezels. They’re practically gone, with just enough of a border to hold the screen. The remote control is also simplistic, only providing a handful of buttons, including a few quick-access buttons to Netflix, Prime Video, and Samsung TV Plus.

Value

Is the Samsung TU8000 2020 Version worth $1100? To be frank: no. It does the bare minimum to compliment its 4K resolution with HDR and Crystal display. You’re better off picking up one of its QLED TV brothers like the Samsung Q60T. Alternatively, if you like the Samsung UN75TU8000FXZA, then perhaps you’ll feel more comfortable with a small version for much cheaper. As it stands, it’s a bit overpriced. For something more, you’ll want to consider the Sony XBR-A1E OLED.

SAMSUNG UN75TU8000FXZA Wrap Up

The Samsung UN75TU8000FXZA has a beautiful 4K Crystal display that brings out shades of colors and contrast that make visual-philes drool. And having 75-inches of screen to look at is still an impressive feat. But make no mistake: Samsung did the bare minimum. Smart features can be a bother and it’s a bit overpriced. Go with a smaller size.
