Logitech Harmony Hub reviews have seen a fantastic increase over the years and have only gone up ever since you became able to control all your smart home devices and home theatre with a single universal remote control. For more on the Harmony Hub and many other universal remotes, check out our best universal remote list! This device has the qualities of the best Tv accessories.

Why We Like It – Logitech Harmony Hub Remote

If you’re looking to control your home entertainment system and don’t mind whether you have to use universal remotes or not, then with this hub logitech has you covered. Although it’s designed with no remotes in mind it does give you the option to use a remote if you please because, let’s face it, some people have just gotten used to it.

Pros
  • Supports voice control via Amazon Alexa
  • Supports a variety of different devices
  • Excellent home theater support
Cons
  • Learning curve for the mobile app
  • Won’t connect to all your home devices without an extender

Performance

With the Harmony Hub, Logitech allows you to use commands like jumping automatically to your favourite channel(so you can watch TV quicker) and adjusting the volume. It supports devices like the XBox One and Playstation 4 and can be set-up to work with the push of a single button. It also works with many smart-home automations like Next, Philips Hue, Ecobee, and just a plethora of others. You can connect it to a voice assistant like Amazon Echo to control everything via voice commands too. But if you truly do love controlling things with a remote, we suggest the Logitech Harmony Ultimate One Remote. A similar device is in the Logitech harmony hub review.

Design

The Logitech Harmony Hub has a simple setup process but may earn a deduction in points because of the learning curve you’ll encounter with the harmony app. However, you can also add new devices through the Logitech Harmony Web Portal which is a bit more convenient. It’s essentially just a small black box measuring 4.9”x4.1”x1”, so it won’t take up much space in your home, and it uses bluetooth, infrared, and wi fi to communicate with the various devices. If you’re not so keen on all the tech that has gone into this and are looking for something that lets you decide how to use it (via app or remote) try the Logitech Harmony All in One Remote Control. To add to your list of Tv accessories, you can also include an affordable yet impressive Blu-ray Player like the one discussed in our Panasonic dmp bdt180eb review.

Value

The Logitech Harmony comes with the Editor’s Choice Harmony Elite remote control, although the hub works without harmony remotes too. Unfortunately, the hub isn’t a full-on home automation hub without buying an additional extender to connect it to all your home entertainment devices. The Harmony Hub is already $80.00, so having to purchase this extender can be understandably irksome to some. If you don’t feel like spending that kind of money and require something more budget-friendly, the GE Universal Remote comes in at around $10.00.

Logitech Harmony Hub Remote Wrap Up

The Logitech Harmony Hub Remote offers a lot bang for your buck. Not just because of its plethora of features and the amount of devices it can connect to, but also because of the variation in the way you want to operate it. The app can use a bit of work, but for now the Harmony Hub is a great contender for the home automation device for your house.
