The LP0817WSR air conditioners perform well, but they are only effective for small areas up to 200 sq. feet (if you’re going to be cooling larger areas, consider the LG LP1419IVSM or the LG LW1816ER instead). Each AC unit is rated for 8,000 BTU, has an oscillating air discharge design, and features an auto-evaporation system that removes the need to constantly empty a bucket. The unit has 3 modes and two different fan speeds for you to choose from, which can easily be cycled through using the touch controls or the remote control. It is very similar to the LG LP0818WNR model that cools up to 200 sq ft and is also remote-controlled.
Energy Efficiency
These LG LP0817WSR ACS are rated for 8,000 BTU (5,500 BTU – DOE). Unfortunately, LG didn’t provide an Energy Guide so it’s hard to get an estimate on the yearly cost of operation. However, an 8,000 BTU air conditioner usually costs around $0.11 per hour to run, so you can get a rough idea of how much it will cost you throughout the year by calculating your daily use by the number of days you run the device. The unit has a 24-hour timer so you can make sure you don’t leave the device constantly running.
Filtration
Included with each air conditioner are two filters; one air filter and another one for the condenser coil. These are made of mesh, making them easy to clean and eliminating the need to buy new filters when one gets dirty. We recommend hand washing them and letting them dry before reinstalling them. Oddly enough, this model doesn’t appear to have an indicator for when the filters need to be cleaned, so you will have to keep track of the overall performance of the device and clean them when necessary.
Durability
