Performance/Resolution

The Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector promises high picture quality through its 1080p support and DLP technology. While its native resolution is only 360p, this is higher than most other pico projectors of its size. Boasting a 1,300:1 contrast ratio and gaming-quality color, the Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector won’t disappoint in terms of display. It even has built-in, room-filling speakers to pair quality sound with its quality video. For similar performance and size, see the GooDee Mini Projector – one of our favorites.

Brightness/Lumens

While the Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector offers undeniably quality images, its weakness to ambient light leaves something to be desired. With a maximum brightness of only 60 lumens, the projecting environment needs to be quite dark for this mini projector to display properly. However, if there is no ambient light overpowering the DLP projector, it can display sufficiently bright colors to display quality photos, videos, and games. For a brighter display, check out the Elephas mini portable projector or the POYANK projector, offering over 2000-lumens.

Don’t bother with the BenQ HT3050 3D DLP home theater projector
or the Mitsubishi HC7800d DLP projector, as they only have 2000-lumens, despite having 3D capabilities. You can also count out the GooDee mini projector as it only has 50-lumens.

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

The Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector sports effortless onboard controls to make setting up and adjusting the device a cakewalk. The focusing wheel allows for a highly adjustable screen size, up to a maximum of 100”; this is high for most mini projectors, especially one as small as this. The quality onboard speakers can be easily replaced with an external set through its 3.5mm audio jack. For more adjustability as well as compatibility, the Kodak Luma offers similar or superior performance at a higher price tag, including using your mobile device to control the projector over wi-fi.

Durability

Considering how portable the Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector is, it’s no surprise that its sleek design is made with sturdy, lightweight materials, making the device weigh approximately 150g. Don’t be fooled by the slim, light design; this mini projector houses space for a micro SD card, HDMI cable, and USB. The LED bulb, while not overly bright, has an average life of 30,000 hours. If you’re unsatisfied with the product, Kodak offers a refund policy anywhere in the United States. Check out the QKK Mini Projector that comes equipped with an HDMI, AV, VGA, and SD Card port.

Value

The Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector comes with a high price tag, but for good reason. Its sleek, lightweight design makes it extraordinarily portable and manages to fit a lot of quality inside between its 1080p resolution support, DLP technology, high contrast ratio, and quality built-in speaker. Initial setup and adjustment are easy, and a built-in lithium-ion battery ensures a quality viewing experience anywhere you take this portable projector. Overall, the Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector is a good value.

Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector Wrap Up

While this mini projector does require a dark space to display properly, and a separately sold adapter to connect to your smartphone, these are where the faults end. The Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector offers superior performance in an exceptionally small frame, making this a great thing that comes in a very small package.
