Performance

The GL.iNet Slate GL AR750S performs exceptionally well for a mini travel router. It has two gigabit ethernet ports (LAN) and a dedicated gigabit Ethernet WAN port. That means you can even use it at your house with a standard wired broadband connection.

Range

This Slate Gigabit router has a dual band Wi Fi system, and it provides pretty good coverage. It’s pretty much on par with the GL.iNet GL-E750, but we have to say, the external antennas aren’t that helpful at all.

Durability

Just like the TP Link WR802N, the build quality is pretty bad. But, it’s expected at this price. The fact that you can get a travel AC router at this price alone is impressive, to begin with, so they have to cut corners at least somewhere. That’s why compared to other travel AC routers, the durability of the GL AR750S Ext router is not that great. Also, you may be interested in our Eero Pro Mesh review.

Ease Of Use

GL Technologies uses the OpenWRT LEDE firmware in most of their routers (e.g., GL.iNet GL-AR150). And this GL.iNet Slate GL AR750S Wi Fi router is no different. It’s fast and relatively easy to use. When other wireless routers at this price come with janky UI that tend to hang a lot, seeing a smooth performance like this is really refreshing indeed. Basically, you won’t have to reach for the reset button a lot on the GL AR750S Ext AC Router. You can even set up Cloudflare DNS over TLS very quickly from the settings for added privacy.

Value

Finding a gigabit travel AC router like this with multiple ethernet ports is a tough job indeed. That’s why the GL.iNet GL AR750S is so good in terms of providing the best bang for the buck. The pre-installed fast OpenWRT LEDE firmware, dual band Wi FI, gigabit WAN port all basically make for a fantastic travel AC router available at a great price point.

GL.iNet GL-AR750S Wrap Up

If you’re looking for a portable wireless router with external antennas, the GL.iNet GL-AR750S is pretty much the definitive one to go for. It is a fantastic dual band wireless router.
