Any Fujifilm FinePix XP130 Review should probably mention how the camera would be the best digital camera for kids and the best digital camera, but I suspect most would tend to focus on how the cameras fare with adults or even professional photographers holding it. But with a kid in mind, some of the perceived negatives, like its ability to only shoot in 1080P, don’t seem so bad anymore.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP130 Digital Camera is another in a long line of cameras that would make professional photographers (and probably professional bloggers) scoff, but that would be perfect for kids and newcomers. It’s lightweight and can shoot high-quality images to get kids excited about photography.

Image Quality
The Fujifilm XP130 Waterproof Compact Camera has pretty decent image quality in bright-light situations. It may not reach the level of a smartphone, but it’s still good enough for a kid looking to try out his first camera. It can shoot at 16.4MP, which isn’t bad, but you’ll have to really try to make pictures come out good in low light situations. The Fujifilm XP80 has this issue as well, but it’s pretty common amongst budget cameras.

Ease of Use
The new XP130 has a large shutter button at the top of the camera for easy access whether you’re outside shooting mountain ranges or underwater shooting jellyfish. It’s a travel camera, and one that kids can use to learn, so it should also be lightweight and easily transportable. Fortunately, the camera weighs a mere 2 pounds and can fit inside a traveler’s pocket. If you want super-lightweight, consider the Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10.

Battery Life
The XP130 Fujifilm FinePix holds a battery life of about 240 shots. That’s decent, but still just a smidge shorter than most cameras in its class which average around 270, give or take. This is due to the 700mAH battery the camera contains which isn’t really suited for long photography sessions. But at least the battery charges inside the camera via USB cable.
Durability
The camera has ruggedized grips on the sides and on the corners. It’s also waterproof down to 65 metres, freeze-proof down to 14°F, and drop proof almost six feet. This makes it great for kids who are constantly running around, rain or shine, or who want to take pictures during a family vacation. It also comes with Wi Fi and bluetooth options, but those need some major improvements.
Value
The Fujifilm FinePix XP130 Digital Camera has one of the smallest CMOS sensors going at 1/2.3 inches, which we’ll leave up to you to decide if that’s good or bad, and has a max shutter speed of 1/2000 seconds. Shooting modes include HD video recording up to 1080P, same as the Nikon D3500 Digital SLR camera. We know 4K is the standard now, but 1080P still produces quality videos, and does a kid really need to shoot in 4K?

I think the biggest thing holding the Fujifilm FinePix XP130 Digital Camera back is the spotty bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Kids are getting more tech-savvy, and more of them are starting with social media earlier these days, so not being able to easily share and transfer their pictures will probably be a turn-off for them.
