Performance
Starting with sound quality, 40mm large-aperture drivers provide some really solid performance. Grant it, the Cowin E7 Bluetooth headphones aren’t pushing studio-quality performance, but they’re leagues better than an average pair of headphones. Even the bass response is good, a trait other headphones tend to overlook.
These over-ear headphones really shine being active noise-canceling headphones. With a noise reduction depth of 28db, the Cowin E7 headphones are going to drown out most of what you hear around you. And with 30 hours of battery life, you can enjoy the fruits of noise isolation and audio for very long trips.
Design
The build quality is where the original Cowin E7 headphones stumble a bit. Overall, they aren’t bad, but it does feel a bit cheap. The worst offender is the chrome sections, giving it an almost toy-like aesthetic. The Cowin E7 Pro does do away with that, and the overall quality improves, but not by much. The ear cups are comfortable enough to withstand long use, though you’ll get warm around the ears, as the Sony WH-1000XM3 does.
The Cowin E7 headphones connect via Bluetooth 4.0. When the battery dies, you can switch to a wired connection via a 3.5mm jack. This is convenient, and just like the Ferrari by Logic3 Scuderia P200 classic black over-ear headphones that work the same way.
Value
Given the performance and pricing, the Cowin E7 headphones have a really great value—especially true if you aren’t an audiophile, nor are you looking to drop several hundred dollars on, say, a pair of Bose QuietComfort 35 II. These wireless headphones aren’t aiming to be the best, but affordable while still providing excellent performance for its pricing. You’ll have a hard time choosing between these or the MPOW H10.
With that said, you may want to consider jumping up to the Cowin E7 Pro over the original E7. The overall performance and build quality is improved in the upper model, from noise-canceling to audio quality. For $20 more, it’s an excellent value if you want just a little more out of this line.
