The first and best mid drive electric bike was the Bulls Ebikes according to many reviews. Bulls has its own contender in this race of the best electric bike, the Iconic TR 1, there are two variants of the TR 1 the entry level Class 1 model that uses a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, and this Class 3 designated TR 1 Speed that uses a Bosch Performance Line Speed mid-drive motor that’s capable of 28 mph.

Why We Like It – Bulls Ebikes

There are a lot of choices in the e-bike world if you are looking for a commuter. Most have a full suspension fork and other amenities. With the condition of roads in many cities, usually filled with potholes and unevenness, we often recommend getting a suspension seatpost as a way to absorb the energy from the bumps. But for an electric adventure bike, you will need the Boardman adv 8 9e review,

Pros
  • CST Supero All Ground, 27.5″ x 2.4″
  • Large 180mm hydraulic disc brake
  • Shimano dual hydraulic lever brakes
Cons
  • Ebike is on the heavy side

Durability & Build Quality

Rear suspension is an SR Suntour Unair air shock with 120mm of travel. There are aluminum fenders and a rear rack that isn’t flat on top, but capable of handling a variety of different saddlebags to let you carry anything you need on your commute. At the front of the bike, there’s a boxy fully adjustable stem by AS-SUVi. That’s where the Kiox display Fuxon F170 integrated headlight is located. Cabling on this bike is some of the most unique with the exposed wires very neatly set up, and each one has its own unique hole in the frame/fork for routing. For a gravel-focused e-road bike, read about it in our Cannondale synapse neo se review.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Bulls went with a Limotec DP-01 dropper, which is not the most responsive one on the market and it comes in handy in stop-and-go traffic. Allowing you to have full leg extension while pedaling, yet stand flat-footed at a stop without getting off the bike. This motor is smaller and lighter than its predecessors and more efficient, while still putting out 350 watts and up to 340-percent support at the pedals and 75 N/m of torque. What this means is that it will get you quickly up to 28 mph in traffic. The Shimano Deore 1×10, 11-42T drive systems gives a smooth ride if you’re in the city or if you’re out using it on a gravel trail, while the Trek Verve+ isn’t too dissimilar the reports sound like the EVO TR 1 beats it.

Range & Battery

The battery is Bosch’s new 625-Wh PowerTube battery, which is located inside the downtube. This is 25 percent more capacity than the most recent, standard 500-Wh batteries, including the ones Bosch has been making the past couple of years. It can be easily swapped for an extra battery if you need extra range and want to carry one with you.

Safety features

While it doesn’t have as many breaks as other electric bikes like the Schwinn Voyageur the Shimano BR-MT420 Hydraulic Disc come with 180mm Rotors, Center Lock, Quad-Piston Front Caliper Dual-Piston Rear Caliper, Three-Finger Levers with Adjustable Reach making the bike a safe option for anyone who might need or just want one of the best E bikes.

Value

This is on the pricier side but considering it’s wide range of capabilities the bike dose match up to the price in many ways, through more then one review was asking for the pedals to be swap them for “grippier and sturdier aluminum” pedals over the dufalt plastic that comes on the bike.

Bulls Ebikes Wrap Up

All in all Bulls has a good 27in bike that can compare with the Cube Compact Electric Bike and the heft of the bike easily being stopped by the double breaks though it’ll take more charge in order to actually keep it’s speed due to the heavier than average weight of the frame.
