The B450 XT addresses any concerns about voice quality with active noise cancelling. Not really intended for music listening, especially because there’s only one earcup on the left side (so no stereo capability) with an adjustable boom and padded mic hung from the left side as well. BUT WAIT, the boom can be rotated all the way through past the headband to the other side, so you CAN wear it with the ear cup and boom mic on the right side if you want. Very comfortable to wear. BlueParrot claims that their noise cancellation software and microphone are 96% effective at suppressing ambient noise, and most consumer comments say that’s accurate in the real world. Really long range (300’), and super long battery life that BlueParrot says provides an astonishing 24+ hours of talk time, and 20 days of standby time. Many consumer comments validate this claim as well. Recharge the battery with the included micro-USB charging cable. The B450 XT headset can also be paired to two phones, so if you have a personal phone and a work phone you can take calls on both with one Bluetooth headset. Design
The design of the BlueParrott B450 XT Canceling Bluetooth Headset is over-ear with a well padded earpiece (not in-ear like Apple Airpods, the No. 1 pick in the Buyer’s Guide), a padded fully adjustable headband, and an adjustable boom microphone. Two different ear cup cushion styles are included –padded leatherette or foam. If you’re accustomed to single-ear in-ear headsets (like the ICOMTOFIT Bluetooth Headset), the B450 XT is a little heavier, but not much. It is more noticeable that you’re wearing a BT headset. A fully adjustable boom microphone (with windscreen) is hung from the ear cup that can be worn on the left or right ear, and the mic boom can be flipped up or down away from your mouth. Touch controls for plus/minus volume, call answer/end, and a programmable button (example: program to summon SIRI), are located on the outside of the earcup. The plug-in to charge the battery is at the bottom of the earcup. The range of the B450 XT is astonishing thanks to it being a Bluetooth Class 1 device (per an IEEE standard, most BT devices are Class 2 with a range of 30’ whereas Class 1 has a range of 300’). There’s more alphabet soup associated with the B450’s Bluetooth V4.0 support, like A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and HSP (Handset Profile) and HFP (Hands Free Profile) which all have to do with device pairing. Needless to say the B450 will pair easily and you can pair it with 2 phones simultaneously. Battery life is equally astonishing. Talk for 24hrs straight (if you can). The noise cancellation is what everybody raves about. Even in very noisy environments the people on the other end of your call can hear and understand you. If your cellular network provider supports HD Voice, so does the B450 XT so you can enable that on your phone for additional voice clarity.
