As always, this new generation iPad improves on last year’s with new features, a bigger screen, and extended battery life. All this and more makes it our top pick as one of the best tablets you can buy.

Why We Like It – Apple iPad 10.2-Inch Tablet Review

The latest Apple iPad 10.2-Inch Tablet is a fabulous device that’s powerful, versatile, and feature rich. With access to all kinds of apps and fast processing speed, there’s not much you can’t do with this tablet.

Pros
  • Smartly designed
  • Fast processing speeds
  • Large, high quality screen and long battery life
Cons
  • Apple smart keyboard and pencil sold separately

Performance

Apple is all about performance, and with an A10 Fusion Chip, this new iPad kicks things into high gear (read: it’s fast). The A10 processor allows you to multitask easily. It’s a refreshing break from using your Apple laptop where, inevitably, the little rainbow wheel will pop up once in a while (of course, the laptop still has faster processing speed). The operating system for iPad keeps getting better too. With each generation Apple releases functionality unique to the iPad that makes the most of the touch screen and the device’s features.T o learn more about an 8” tablet with 2MP front and rear cameras, with the ability to record 720p HD videos, read our Amazon Fire HD 8 review.

Design

The design is great and in-line with other iPad models. The main difference between this iPad and other models like the iPad Mini and iPad Air are in screen size and the type of processor. The iPad Pro is the fastest of them all.

At any rate, the screen size on the Apple iPad 10.2-Inch is slightly bigger than the iPad Air. This model includes Apple Pencil support (it works with all generation Apple Pencil) and a smart connector you can use to pair with Apple’s smart keyboard. Smart keyboard support extends via bluetooth as well for third party keyboards. It’s all pretty well thought out and integrated. As with all new Apple devices it charges via USB C.

It’s connectable via Wi Fi with the option of getting a cellular data model. Use Touch ID for added security to unlock the home screen. If you like reading, you need a tablet with long battery life and the ideal reading screen. For more details, see our Barnes Noble nook simple touch with glowlight review.

Value

Priced as the entry level iPad, you get a lot of bang for your buck here. Coming in at under $300, it’s priced to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A T580. While you can get other tablets — Fire HD 10 Tablet and Lenovo Smart Tab M10 HD, for example — for less, you’ll pay for it in performance.

Apple iPad 10.2-Inch Tablet Review Wrap Up

If you own an iPhone or Apple computer and are looking to buy a tablet, it’s hard to recommend an option other than this iPad. Even if you don’t, Apple has created a powerful device that allows people to use it for work, play, entertainment, and more.
